My hair was in really bad shape so i decided to cut them. It was the first time in my whole life that I had my hair cut short and Ms Darsale did an excellent job. Not only i love my haircut but the hair treatment make my hair look better that it ever did. I LOVE IT. Moreover, Ms Darsale and her staff are adorable.
Pros: very good ambience and service. Very clean and sanitary
Cons: none

My first year in Miami (I've been around about ten), I walked into a salon and spa to enjoy a spa day with my finer haired college friends only to be told "We don't do your type of hair here." More frustrating and infuriating were the people who ATTEMPTED to do my hair resulting in ridiculous cranberry highlights, and barely achieved straightening (...a blowout for this natural hair with that round brush--surely you must be joking) that didn't last beyond the salon walls. After years of having the same pinned up non-style because I decided not to let anyone but me get near my hair, I come across Sayblee Darsale--the first hair CARE specialist (not only a stylist, braider, or colorist)--who put her hands into my hair and knew what it needed. I trusted Sayblee and was finally able to get a natural hairstyle, not just natural hair. I chose double strand twists. While my high endurance lifestyle does not allow my hair to be entirely low maintenance, I am able to enjoy my hair now. It's so much more dynamic than I ever expected it to be. It moves when I move, yields to the whims of the wind, and complements my features and quirky personality; and it's growing noticeably thicker and longer. Sayblee Darsale's Salon offers excellent customer service and features natural product lines along with Sayblee's own special conditioning blends. If it's not good for your hair, it won't be done. The salon offers a quiet, relaxed atmosphere and is well maintained. Natural hair styling can be a lengthy process, but Sayblee Darsale's gets patrons in the chair and out as fast as possible allowing them to take advantage of the Coconut Grove location within steps of yummy fare and great boutiques. Whether you've always been natural or are just getting over the fear of it, Sayblee Darsale's Salon is an ideal place to discover that your hair is the hair you always wanted.

Born and raised in Miami, I moved away and came back from Tallahassee two years ago. While in Tallahassee, I decided to go natural but here in Miami I had the hardest time finding someone who knew about natural hair care. Imagine crying in the stylist chair because the lady wouldn't stop yanking your hair (in chunks) and listening to her talking under her breath about you needing to "just go get a perm." Let’s just say I think of Sayblee Darsale Salon as a BLESSING. From the first time I spoke to Ms. Sayblee on the phone, I could tell she was very professional. During the consultation, she asked me questions about my hair history, types of products I used, etc. She then examined my hair *noticing some of the hair loss I had from the lady yanking my hair* and also suggested how she could help ME. Since that initial meeting, I have visited her salon over twelve times. I like to vary my hairstyles quite often and Ms. Sayblee has the experience to handle all of my requests. Services I've experienced includes the shampoo & style of my natural hair using Ms. Jessie's products, to coloring without ammonia, to the double strand twists and full weave sew-ins. My hair has grown in length and thickness, and even better has not broken off around my edges (considering how often I go back and forth with the full head weaving.) The salon experience has been enhanced with the addition of the nail specialist; just sit down with her one time and you will understand. The customer service, an offering of water or tea, along with the spacing of appointments makes you feel as though you are a priority in Ms. Sayblee's chair. And yes the price of services may be on the high-end, but point blank you get what you pay for and what you are paying for at Sayblee Darsale Salon is quality service, in a relaxing environment, under the care of a licensed professional who has several different specialties and who truly cares about the overall treatment of you total hair care.
Pros: Experience in salon
Cons: Parking in Coconut Grove

If you are a black woman and live in the Miami suburbs then you know that finding a salon is next to impossible. This place is located in the heart of Coconut Grove so what more could you want. The service is excellent and you can get your nails done during your hair service. It is a little pricier than the Broward County salons but it's worth it not to have to drive that far. Go in the morning, get your hair and nails done then go for lunch in the Grove.
Pros: Ambience, services offered
Cons: parking

I've been searching for a Natural hair stylist in Miami for years. I found Miss. Sayblee when searching for Miss. Jessie's Curl Pudding. I got my thick, curly hair washed, deep conditioned and hot combed (yes, die hard fan) and can I say that my hair has never been this silky in my LIFE!! I even stepped out into the wind, walked a couple blocks to my office and was still turning heads when I got there. Never in my life have I spent less then 8 hours at a salon for a wash and style and Miss. Sayblee had me in and out in 5 hours (that includes breaks for another client in the shop getting twists). So I know when I get my one-on-one appointment I could potentially be out in 3-4 hours and I will die when that day comes. Thanks Sayblee!
Pros: Time in and out, out come of my hair
Cons: cost is pretty high and even more for me because of my length but still worth it!

I've been to many salons, and I must say this one --- specializing in MY HAIR, definitely has class. So clean you can eat off the floors, great customer service (I was offered coffee, tea or water) that's rare in some salons. LOL And most of all, I didn't have to waste my entire Saturday there due to overbooking. I came out of there looking great if I do say so myself. And Maria's manicures are to die for. They actually last at least 2 weeks!! Thanks Sayblee for running a salon with grace and style.
Pros: clean, customer service, Miss JESSIE PRODUCTS!!!
Cons: location is great if in Miami, but I live pretty far north

I've been going to Sayblee since 2005. I have been delighted with my service from my first visit. She is a great conversationist and gives me undivided attention when I'm in her chair. I never have to worry about her being double booked. The salon is always clean, peaceful, and well stocked with current, stylish magazines. The shampooist is always polite and can give a mean scalp scratch :-) I never have a problem with availability of appointments either. I am highly satisfied with the service given.
Pros: one-on-one service
Cons: costly

I have truly found a natual hair salon, whreas, the practitioner knows natural hair. I have been searching for a natural hair salon for my now teenage daughter for sometime. The salons that I'd tried thus far presented that their specialty is natural hair when in reality "braiding" is their speciality. I could alwasys find someone to braid her hair with extentions but I needed someone who could braid, care for natural hair and is a SME in individuals diagnosed with Alopecia. While looking for salons tha carried Miss Jessie's products in FL, I found Sayblee. I reside 45 miutes away from Coconut Grove and was sceptical initally because of the drive. I finally made the consultation appt Dec 2007 and knew I had found what I was looking for from the cosultation. I have been taking my daughter to Sayblee since Jan 2008 and it is well worth the drive. I have no idea what Sayblee mixes up in the back and administers to my daughters hair and scalp, however, there is significant growth and her natural grade of hair is returning. If you are looking for a real natural hair care professional with personal attention and care for her clients; Sayblee is it.
Pros: Personal attention given to clients

I moved to Florida two months ago and I was looking for a Natural Hair Stylist that focuses on healthy hair. My former hair stylist in ATL had worked so hard to keep my hair healthy and I just knew when I relocated here it would be difficult to find the right person. I started by looking on Miss Jessie's website for products that I could possibly use at home but I noticed that they had Hair Stylist that actually uses Miss Jessies's products. There were two stylist in the area and I chose Sayblee Darsale's Salon because i saw good reviews and I liked that it was in Coconut Grove near the restaurants and trendy shops. After my consultation with Sayblee I knew that I had chosen the right place and I told her that I understand that it is hard to get the right style the first time but i was willing to give her a chance. Surprise!! my first hairstyle was so me and I cannot began to explain how elated me and my husband was with the results. The personal attention that I received from Sayblee and her staff makes me feel so special and I find that her website is absolutely correct " is an oasis of renewal"
Cons: None

I invite anyone who may have fears of trusting a stylist again, or who needs someone to arm wrestle natural curls, to visit Sayblee Darsale Salon. Sayblee was my saving grace from returning to a perm and enduring bad hair stylists! The initial consultation was most helpful and she seemed very intelligent and informed on how to style natural hair. So far, I have had my hair pressed and twisted with the "Double Strand Twist" method. Both times I was overjoyed at the results. My hair is beautiful, manageable, and most importantly, GROWING! She is also a master with the scissors, only trimming what NEEDS to be trimmed! Her conditioners, although TOP SECRET, are tailored for you, to fit your hair composition. I do not know what I would have done without her. She is a treasure in the heart of Cocunut Grove. A must see!
Pros: Only one of two salons (that I know of) in Florida that uses Miss Jessie's products.
Cons: None that I can think of ...
