Excellent cuts for wavy or curly hair

I had been looking for a while for a place that does excellent cuts with very wavy, medium curly hair. I found THE best stylist at Gustavo Briand salon. Went to see specifically Patricia in mid July - she was awesome. Precision cuts, didn't create "pouffiness" or the "mushroom effect" you often get with very wavy hair that goes shorter, and she really listened and took her time.

Gustavo was also there doing another client's hair and the banter between them and me and the other client was great - felt like making great friends. Ask for Patricia if you want an amazing cut!!! Loved it even after I washed it and now weeks later!!

• Pros: Precision cut by Patricia!!
• Cons: A bit pricey so I cant come every 8-10 weeks! Metered parking is a pain...

Allow Gustavo to be creative and do his thing and you will be more than "wow"-ed. i've only had two hair cuts from Gustavo BUT THEY ARE THE 2 BEST HAIR CUTS OF MY LIFE! I will always use and only use Gustavo!

Best Eyelash Extensions and Highlights

Well I have used city search before but never did a review. I felt compelled to do it now because of the wonderful experience I had with Alexandra and Gustavo. I have had my lashes done before but in LA. I can't believe the difference in these lashes! First of all Alexandra took so much time with me before, just talking about which set would be the best for me. That's a first, most places I have been to don't even ask what length you want. I really wanted a double extreme but Alexandra said no, it was too much so we decided on a set and a half extreme. She did it butterfly style which is gorgeous longer on the outter corners to make eyes stand out. I love them so much.

Her service is fabulous and her space is way mellow. Absolutely no pressure to buy anything or get a more expensive set (actually the opposite, she talked me out of the more expensive one) Her work is just like art. Gustavo the brother did the BEST highlights downstairs at Gustavo Briand Studio, you guys deserved my review! Can't recommend her enough. Super nice people.

I currently drive 2 hours (one way) for an "Gustavo cut," and would never think of changing. He takes time to listen and is so skilled at creating the best look for any type of hair. Whether you are looking for a trim or a total change, Gus is the best!

great hair

gustavo, christian, patricia and all staff are great. Make you feel welcome and will run coins to the meter if you remember to tell them to. They care about your hair. They ask questions and look at pictures with you and give great color and hair cuts and I get compliments on my hair. I am trying to let it grow out a bit but I love the cut Gustavo does and Christian too is very careful with your hair. Thanks guys and see you real soon!

Did try this place by the owners responses alone!

was looking for a new salon for roots, highlights, & cut. I noticed that the owner answers every unsatisfied customer & tries to resolve it. That says a lot to me.~ I had a horrible experience at a nearby Salon on Purdy Ave. I spent over $200 on a nightmarish experience, "won't bore you" then another $200 to fix their mistakes! The other "Owner" never had the decency to get back to me. I tried Gustavo Briand Studio and I LOVED IT! AND as I promised I am writing a review~

Thank You Gustavo for 12 years of good hair.

Gustavo has been styling my hair since 1997 from Vidal Sassoon… I have followed him to different salons and he has even made house calls. As a very picky customer I am always impressed with his results. Gustavo has made me look like a natural chocolate/caramel Brunette, as well as a bright (not bleached!) Blonde. I have fine hair that is easily damaged, so instead of over-processing my hair quickly, like most stylists (time is $), he allows the color to process correctly, keeping my hair healthy! he is the only stylist who doesn't make my hair break off when I go blonde and who can layer and style my hair to look thick and full. Gustavo is not only talented, with experience and training at some of the most respected salon in the World (Vidal Sassoon...), he is also a delight to be around for your time in the chair!

... did I mention his prices? they went up, and they are SO WORTH IT! (Now that he is "Famous in Allure Magazine") Lol, just kidding you are So worth it Gus!

Classy, expensive and Great!

A co worker of mine recommended this place to me, for my boyfriend to get his haircut at. It's actually pretty pricey! but I'd say it was well worth the money! It was a GREAT haircut, the service & Gustavo were all nice (offer you coffee or water as you wait, etc). The atmosphere is REALLY clean and friendly. Gustavo was EXCELLENT! We will definetely be back for him again! I myself will get a haircut with Gus next week. The bad thing is that we had to park on the street. If you ever have to park on the street, make you you're on top of paying your meter, those parking ticketers will REALLY be on the watch out there!

Much needed confident booster

I had my hair cut for the first time from Gustavo at his Salon. All my friends love my hair! I got so many compliments. I absolutely love it, and its easy to do by myself! It's a much needed improvement for me. My hair has been so plane jane for too long. I finally decided why not try something new. One of the girls in my yoga class said she gets her hair done at Gustavo's so I decided to try it. The salon is conveniently located around the corner from the Venetian Cwy and Purdy Ave, so it's easy to get to. From the moment I got in, the staff were really friendly. Gustavo's assistant Matthew took care of me from the moment I entered until the time I checked out. It was a great salon experience for me and a change that I needed badly. Thanks to Gustavo and his gracious staff I am no longer looking and feeling blah. I will go back again, and also thinking about the Keratine Relaxer, I will let you know.

• Pros: You wont believe how easy is to blow dry your hair after!
• Cons: NONE!
