What a Scam!! $29.00 happy hour Mojito

What a rip off. They offer decent prices on happy hour food, then stick it to you with a drink price of $29.00/drink for a coctail......but the second one is free. That averages out to $15.00 for a happy hour drink....now that's not so happy is it? I had to give them one star because that is the lowest this website offers...they deserve 1/2 star.

• Pros: great location to prey on tourists
• Cons: they lure you in for "2 for 1 drinks....

Scam on the Half price Drinks

I was in south beach for a mini vacation. As we were done swimming, my girlfriend and I decided to get some drinks. The pretty hosted told us about the half price bar so we decided to sit down for a drink........My girl ordered a Pina Colada and I oreded a Long Island Ice Tea with a side appetizer of Buffalo wings. Since the Bar special was so great i decided to order a 2-1 beer..........When the check came it read $72.00. I live in New York City........Price of a Long Island Drink 15.00 The most, Pina Colada 15.00 the most, a Beer 8 dollars the most and a side order of wings 15.00 the most. Lets do the math 15+15+8+15= 53.....The waiter stood there with a blank look on his face like i was speaking in chinese..............Ladies and Gent when the econmy get bad and places like this try to scam you.......This is what i do..........pass them on by when I'm on Ocean...........Never again

Pirates in South Beach

Me and my girlfriend went to this place 'cause the half off on drinks and 20% off on the meal. So I asked for their "lunch special" and 2 for 1 drinks. So our waiter brought us a corona, a mojito, spaghetti & lobster and steak & lobster. The bill came out the incredible amount of 250.00 dollars with no discount; 29 dollars for the mojito, 87 dollars for the steak & lobster and 68 dollars for the spaghetti & lobster. So I asked for the manager and a menu containing the prices of those items; the manager just kept looking at me with his "I don't know what u mean face" telling me that those are special items not on the menu.... So everything on the menu were ranged from 20 to 25 dollars. They even refused to bring the drinks menu with the prices on it. Besides that , the manager told me that I should have asked prices first.... Well I did asked for "lunch special" and not "chef's special" so ended up paying 220.00 dollars and the mandatory tips.... What a robbery!!!!!!!! And the food wasn't even close to be good..... Stay away from this freaking place!!!!! My worst experience ever!!!!! I'm telling this as a experienced chef from Las Vegas....

Run away

The shrimp cocktail was not fresh, the soup and pizza was extremely salty, the water tasted like radiator water, price was over priced and the service was slightly satisfactory but the gratuity was mandatory!

Terrible...Fox Cafe

Literally. Food was terrible. We were visiting Miami beach and looking for a place to eat. The staff seemed nice and inviting. I ordered salmon ($25-30)...After few hours, I realized that the fish was expired. I had terrible nausea and stomach flu, I suffered for 2 days to get system stable. Stay away from this place. Dont get carried away with their offers and inviting attitude. They serve stale food ....overpriced.

scam artist!!!! stay away

we were baited by the greeter with the 1/2 off food price during happy hour. they gave us the drink menu without price on it and didn't tell us drinks were not half off. the food was terrible and when we got our bill, they charged $19 for a glass for a regular sized mojito and $6 for a glass of sprite. what a highway robbery!!!! go there if you like terrible food and $19 mojito!!!! these people need to be sued for unethical business practice!!!!!!

This place is TERRIBLE !!! Totally shady business !!

My meal arrived cold while my husband's meal was no where in sight. Waiter informed us the dish would arrive shortly..

20 minutes later, after no sight of our waiter, a different employee arrives with a dish my husband did not order.

My husband informs this person of the mistake. This person looks at my husband with no expression and leaves; with the dish left on the table. 15 minutes later, our long-lost waiter arrives to see 2 uneaten dishes on the table and asks"Did you enjoy?" After explaining that my dish was delivered cold and my husband's dish was not ordered; the waiter's demeanor turned from fake to condescending. He wanted to know why it took us so long to "complain." He said he could get the manager but it would be useless due to the fact we would have to pay for the dinner.. My husband asks to see the manager.. 15 minutes later the "manager" arrives. After a 15 minute interrogation that including statements such as "you probably don't remember what you ordered"; We ask for the check for the 2 martinis we had.. The manager at first mentioned that he would have to charge us for the 2 meals; to which my husband flew into a rage.. Soon after, the check arrived. They didn't charge for the uneaten meals, but 2 martinis ended up costing $ 34 !!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE !!

grat food

a genuinely welcoming restaurant. the staff went out of its way to make us feel special -- plus the food was really lovely (pizza alone gets two thumbs up, and the menu is far more extensive than that!) . this is the kind of place the whole family can enjoy. In the past, i haven't really made it a point to visit ocean drive, but fox cafe has given me good reason to come back -

• Pros: smoking on the terrace
• Cons: no parking

Could've been better

Service was terrible, food was worse. Had to get up from table to prompt waiter that was overly busy doing nothing. The toilet worked harder than he did.

Horrible experience

We had the worst experience at Fox Cafe. Horrible service. Food that was poorly prepared and tasteless. Our order took over 1.5 hours (consisting of 4 salads and 1 quesadilla). I would NEVER recommend that someone eat at Fox Cafe.
