New York Bartending School is absolutely phenominal. I learned way more than i ever expected in only one week. The staff is amazing and couldnt be better looking. The classroom is exactly like a full bar where they can turn the lights down and crank the tunes and strobe lights, Its SICK! It feels like your actually working in a real bar. I just graduated and fell extremely confident to walk into any bar and start working today, no problem. The staff is extremely knowledgable and teach you everything to pouring drinks and how to proberly pass an interview. The best part about the school is they actually care about what happens after you graduate. Help you set up a resume and frind a job. There is not one thing i would change about this school. I learned a lot and had a lot of fun doing it! If your thinking of becoming a bar tender this is where u need to come.. end of story
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing

Heres the 411 on this school. I went to the other unamed school, and almost signed up. Thank god I didn't . I didn't feel right at all when I stepped in there . They are not very friendly and inviting . Matter of fact they were more concered with my name and phone number and how I would be paying if I decied to sign-up. Two days later I went into NYBS and I knew this place was for me. The teacher I was talking to was(AXEL) he made me laugh and made me feel very comfortable he didn't care about hooking me. He told me about a free trail class I thought free why not. So I came back in on monday and, halfway thought the free class I was convienced this was the place for me. I was older than the rest of the students in my class. I have a college degree in Hospitality Management , and was also a corporate trainer for many years working for a large well know restaurant chain. I believe I know what It takes to train students . And let me tell you so do they . There class is structured well taught, insightful and lots of fun. You work at your own pace, and they let you come in early they really teach you alot. I came in because I was out of the industry for ten years and was having trouble even with a degree getting back in. I wanted a change of pace. I no longer wanted to manage. I was always jealous of the bartenders making all the (cash) money . You see a general manager usually has to work at least two more hours then the bar staff and they always got payed more than me. From what I saw local bar managers call NYBS and beg for help. They must know that there going to get hooked up with someone worthy. Well I've rambled on enough. One more thing before I was done the job placement babe (sorry couldn't help myself) her name is Allyson. She had a couple of possible jobs waiting for me. Now I'm back in the business and making great money . THANKS AGAIN Brian, Axel, and Allyson ..You guys are great ..They can come in to my bar anytime and the drinks are on me.......jt
Pros: THEY ARE
Cons: THE OTHER GUYS

Going to this school was more than worth the hour+ drive every day. If you want to become a bartender, this is the place. I learned more than the technical aspects of pouring drinks; I learned customer service, bar maintenance, how to relate with coworkers in any setting, and tons more of information I never would have learned in your standard bartending school. The instructors are not only among the most knowledgable in the business, but give help give the place its relaxed and fun atmosphere. Fellow students are dedicated and know how to have a good time - I always had buddies to help me practice and study... and with whom to do shots. :) I recommend this school to anyone looking to get into bartending.

I havent got a single gripe about the class, staff, or fellow students. I was able to come after work, on weekends if i wanted, and i could study at my own pace. Class was very very fun, and more importantly extremely informative. The first couple of days, i felt i was in way over my head.. By the start of the 2nd week, it got so much easier, and everything just completely came together. The instructors never gave up on ramming information into my brain, big shout out to Bryan here for all the help.
Pros: Class Length, Unlimited practice time!, great peers to work with.
Cons: a bit of a drive for me, but everyone's different. Not bad if that's the only Con i've got eh?

I visited another school just before i made it to New York Bartending School. I passed by to check it out and nobody answered the door. There was a sweater on the chair but no one came to help me. That say's alot right there. On the other hand, the staff at New York Bartending School was very friendly when I got there and made me feel right at home. I even got some work before I graduated. nothing comes close to this school and if you don't believe go see for yourself elsewhere...maybe someone will actually answer the door for u your time around.
Pros: intense course and awesome job placement
Cons: the seminars should be in the morning I am TOo tired and FULL in the afternoon hehe

The instructor is what it's all about. You need to know the drinks, practice, and get the insidescoop about the biz. You can't do that online or have as much fun anywhere else. Sarah was an excellent person, enthusiastic, and answered all my questions about the school. I would recommend this class to any person that's serious about becoming the best bartender they can be.
