User Reviews for Pawn Shop

Pawnshop was without question the absolute worst experience I have ever encountered in all of Florida's clubs and night life! Between the Staff, Clientele, Ambiance, Enviroment and sounds I honestly couldn't tell you what was the worst part. I noticed the positive reviews here on Citysearch are from Pawnshop affiliates... sad.

Pros: other close by quality night life

Cons: waste of time, money and unnecessary frusteration

I decided to finally go to Pawn Shop with some people after hearing great things about it from other friends of mine. When we got to the front door the bouncers started to card us, which was fine, but what wasn’t is that they started to HECKLE us about our ages even though we were all over the age of 21 using our Florida driver’s license! They eventually let us in. When we got in, Pawn Shop was loud and rackety. People were low-class, lolifes, skanky, and just plain boring. We decided to leave, and when we walked out, the bouncers pleaded for us to stay by offering to buy us drinks on the house. My friends thought it would be rude to deny them after they persisted for so long; as a result, we headed back in and to the bar. When we got there the bartender flipped out on the bouncer and argued about giving us free drinks; she then demanded to see our driver’s license to card us AGAIN! My two friends gave her theirs, after the bartender complained for a while to the bouncer IN FRONT OF US, she then poured my friends their two drinks. I proceeded to hand her my driver’s license, meanwhile she was still complaining about giving us drinks and not believing that are licenses’ were real. I was so aggravated, I told her to scan my license on the register, she became even ruder when I said this, and whipped out this flashlight and started analyzing, bending, doing all these ridiculous things until she realized that my Florida license was in fact, REAL. When she asked me what I wanted to drink I told her that I actually wanted nothing, and I just wanted her to "check out" my license. She became furious, nastily smirked at me and turned away. Anyway, we left immediately after that. I’ve never been so rudely treated in my life. I’m sure you’ll get in if you dress skanky and are sleazy. Don’t go here for a good time. Drive a few blocks away and head over to Circa 28 instead. Great music, fun people, and NICE staff!

Pros: Other lounges are near the area; so, if Pawn Shop turns out as bad as it was for me, you can easily hop in the car and drive a block or two to a great place.

Cons: Dangerous area, parking can be expensive, ambience is horrible, staff is outrageously rude!

this place needs to be closed down, period. it is a complete dump and an eyesore. compared to all the other swank and beautiful clubs or other underground spots , this place has a wack sound system , strange tastetless decor, and terrible dj line ups compared to the rest of miami. the security staff is inept and do not intervene properly if violent break outs do occur. i personally know of someone who got her faced scratched up quite badly , after a racial slur was made by apparently the operations managers assistant ! i do not recommend visiting this place ever, as you might regret going there due to the eerie vibe, and compromising space, that is not good for dancing . it looks like an abandoned warehouse , and looks like an old pawn shop for homeless people. this place is known for shortchanging their promoters as well. but these known facts are beyond the point. spend your money elsewhere and you might find yourself having a better time . it is hard to believe that this place is listed as one of the premier places to be in miami. this place lacks the good music, good people, and nice decor to be even a venue worth visiting. on top of it all, even the drinks there are mixed badly. need i write more? have fun going somewhere else in miami, like club space next door perhaps?

I love this place... through thick and thin. Granted, there was a time when Pawn Shop felt like it was slipping, but they are back! This is a place where you can really experience the best of Miami nightlife at The Pawn Shop Lounge, located in the heart of Downtown where you can dance to old school New Wave provided by the hot DJ in the semi (yes, a semi truck) or your new favorite indie dance band. With plenty of trendy young hipsters you can dance and build up a sweat or if that’s not your style, relax and have a drink in our school bus, voted Best VIP Lounge in 2005 by Miami New Times. Whatever you’re into, you’ll find it here at The Pawn Shop Lounge. I mean Come on! what other club do you go to has a BUS AND A TRAILER AND AN AIRPLANE!! This club is just too much fun!

Pros: Ambience, Hot people, Awesome music, great Decor

Cons: nothing really, not for the extreme claustrophobic

I love the Pawn Shop. Everytime I go there I have the best time. Every night has a different feel. I love Friday night in the back room. The DJ is so awesome and refreshing. The music they play there is a lot different from other clubs.

The Pawnshop is just about the most foolish thing in the world. First of all the website says T-shirts are acceptable. Then I go there to get turned away at the door because I'm wearing a Fedora T-shirt. If I would've paid money at a thrift shop and worn a tight shirt things would be different. I called the lady up after being denied and asked her what was the dress code. She said no "beach wear or athletic wear". I asked about T-shirts and she said the word "tight" TWO times in her answer. So I repeated back to her, "You can express yourself with a T-shirt as long as it is tight." She laughed at the absurdity of trying to define free expression and said the tightness isn't a factor. But her mentioning it two times gives me a clue. Phony.

Pros: Expensive parking, Cover, "Working girl"-style

Cons: Shirts must be tight, Microsoft pays them

Pawn Shop is everything you want in a nightclub - fun environment, great music and no South Beach attitude. Check out Thursday nights where a backyard bbq takes place on the patio. Saturday nights is a all out house party where anything goes - hot chicks abound! I also hear they are opening an elite lounge called Boutique...entrance in the alley way...I guess Pawn Shop would be the diner and Boutique the secret casino. Can't wait!

Pros: hot chicks, well priced, fun environment

This use to be my favorite spot. The music was amazing and they managed it nicely. It has deteriorated as most clubs do when they start to get popular. The door scene is a catastophy, they bouncers are no longer profecional and are on Bounce Power Trip 101 and once you get it. Its packed to the gills and there is nowhere to dance. This place use to have great character. They killed it when they decided to hire thugs and poor cheap booze in their top shelf bottles. Was awesome. Now its just a matter of time before its gone.

Pros: Music

Cons: Fake Drinks, Thug Bouncers, Over Crouded

Great music and crowd once I got inside after waiting about an hour and a half only to pay to get in. The only way I can agree with the last user, is if you got a nice great big rack! LOL

Pros: Pleasant change, Good crowd

Cons: LOOOONG wait, LONG WAIT, YOUR A GUY?.WAIT MORE
