Outstanding intimate dinner experience
by AlfredoL
From the moment you step in to Casa Toscana, you truly feel like visiting someone in Italy. However, to think of this only as a good Italian restaurant is limiting. The wine selection is outstanding and surprisingly international. The menu is original and inventive beyond traditional Italian cooking. The staff is attentive and available. Chef/owner Sandra Stefani walks the tables regularly to share a story and make a suggestions. This is a dinner experience most of the new trendy and expensive spots in town cannot provide simply because they do not know and do not care. Casa Toscana does! Enjoy the intimate patio for a special appetizer before dinner? these are made nightly by Sandra! We recommend this place to all our friends every time and we are sure you will do the same!

Great Place to have original Northern Italian food with a touch of innovation. Very moderate prices , and the wine selection and prices is every wine lover's dream!! You can drink that extra glass of your favorite wine and not dig into your savings ! LOL
The best during this hard economic times

Casa Toscana is doing it right, i have been a customer there for a few years and the food is always good the wines are priced right and the servers are charming and professional.
The Chef Owner does not care about being a star, she is truly a good dedicated business woman with lots of consideration for her patrons...one example is that the prices on the menu are the same since last year.
I also had a birthday party and they did not charged me extra for the use of their private room.
During this hard economic times this means a lot.
I am very happy that after five years they are still doing so well, for sure Casa Toscana is on the top of my Italian favorite!!!
Have you been there lately?

Casa Toscana on Biscayne is the most authentic Tuscan Restaurant in town.
Those reviews were written in 2005 and 2006 at a time when the restaurant was new and serving just pastas, salads and sandwiches, but so much has changed since then....
I am a regular customer and the menu has improved so much, they now serve the most authentic "Tuscan" fried chicken, a great steak, veal ossobuco and they have specials such as wild boar or venison stew and the best "zuppa di pesce" (seafood stew). Also their dessert menu is truly homemade and amazing.
They have added a rustic garden for wine and light fares and the ambiance is really Italian, no attitude, no frills, just good honest food.
Those that have gone there in 2006, should go back to be pleasantly surprised.

Fresh Tuscan fare served "family-style" draws diners seeking an authentic taste of Italy.
Bad Italian!
by alfamilan
Casa Toscana is a cute Biscayne Blvd restaurant with nice wines but mediocre food. On four visits the sauces were runny, the pasta was tough and the service was average; in one occasion however a panna cotta dessert was surprisingly good. Great non-tourist location and ambience but one really hopes the food gets better. I've really wanted to like it but it's never been good, in this case, to each his own.
- Pros: ambiance
- Cons: food
This is more like it!

I recently relocated to Miami from NYC and have been bemoaning the dearth of good local restaurants. However I was delighted to stumble across this great little restaurant that could hold it's own in any company.
The dining room is small but comfortable and you really get the feeling that your are in an actual Italian restaurant not some dreadful generic pasta joint.
The service I found to be excellent. The wait staff were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, without being overattentive.
The food didn't disappoint either, I made quick work of the tuscan bean soup, followed by a perfectly grilled steak accompanied by arugula, parmesan and baked potatoes, beautifully infused with rosemary.
I washed all this down with a wonderful pino noir that easily justified the $30 I paid for it.
Miami desperately needs resturants like this on every corner if it is indeed to become the city that it aspires to be!
- Pros: great food, low key, charming
- Cons: could have more elbow room
Underwhelmed!
by travelxfood
Poorly executed pasta, greasy sauces, in all a very poor example of waht's supposed to be an Italian eatery, non creative menu, for what they offer is very pricey and stuffy, mediocre wine selection of badly chosen items. To top it with a bad atittude and poor service. Completely disappointed.
