Great place to have dinner

Hi first i want to say hello from Denmark to all the staff and the girls in the bar, friendley service. My Girlfriend and me stayed in the hotel above Shuckers around easter 2009. Almost every night we went too dinner there. Exept one night we went to Hooters ;-). The food is better at Shuckers. i can say that because i almost eat my way to the menu. My girlfrend and me enjoyed ewery night sitting by the water eating and drinking a beer. (yes i miss it)

awesome locals beach joint

i live down the street, but even when i didn't i loved this place. its a great joint to chill at because it s got great open air seating by the bay, open late, only locals tend to know about it since its actually the restuarant for the Best Western, has good beers, and decent food (great grilled wings). dont come to this place if youre high maintence or expecting some kind of phemnomenal dining experience. its schuckers people. you go for the environment. beach bums only.

service/waitresses is good, but managers are rude when food is over cooked

I work down the street on 79th ST just west of Shuckers. I have been there quite a few times in the past few years & it was great place to eat .I haven't been there in a few months & after a long day of work my fiance, our granddaughter & I decided to eat there to pass some time before a long ride to home in Homestead. They used to have an excellent grouper sandwich, but not no more. They switch it with snapper. So I ordered the dolphin sandwich which was good. My fiance ordered the N.Y. Strip steak medium. It came out well done. The server was friendly & took the steak back & apologized said they were going to cook another. (OK ) Then like 15-20 min. go by & the server has come by a few times & said she didn't know why it was taking so long. By this time our granddaughter & I had finished eating, her veggies were cold & we were ready to leave. We told the server to forget the steak & take it off of the bill. The first manager comes out with the steak & says here it is & he couldn't take it off the bill & he apologized that there was nothing more he could do for us. We asked for another manager. He came out & pretty much blamed us for their mistake. I told he that it only takes 5 min. to cook a steak to medium. He told me I was wrong that it takes 15 min. After going back & forth with the 2nd manager he decided to take the steak off the bill. Both managers were quite rude & know nothing about CUSTOMER SERVICE. I never had any problems in Shuckers before, but will second guest my decidsion before eating there. It actually got so bad with the managers I asked for the owner's phone # & will be giving him a call. I hope he better mannered than his managers.

Excellent place

If you're looking for a very casual, reasonably priced, decent food & better drinks place in an incredible setting, Shuckers is the place. So far, I haven't ordered anything that my mother wouldn't have approved. Gradually it has become one of my favorite hang-out places to take friends to. It's a real place, it's not fake. You can go to play pool, watch sports or simply to enjoy the view and the friendly atmosphere. In addition, you can get to Shuckers either by car or by boat!

that's right.. this place is for suckers. order chinese and stay home. extra msg.. zero buy back even after paying 250.00 bucks. yeah.. shuck this.!!!!!!!!!! ! 4 thumbs down. booooooo ! you'll see.

Worst time just trying to get a beer

Ok here's the deal I went to Shuckers this past weekend with some friends. I got there tried to order a couple of beers and the bartender wouldn't accept my ID because I didn't know my zodiac sign. which is a rediculous way to find out if it's fake or not. Even the manager wouldn't approve it because he couldn't tell if my ears were peirced or not. another rediculous way, which in my opinion if they really wanted to know they should have asked my address or something. well i was visiting from GA. Funny how they thought it wasn't real yet the bouncers at Passions night club who were Broward County Cops didn't seem to mind that i didn't know my zodaic sign. if you just want to drink and have fun and not be heckled about your license or other stuff don't go here.

Good place for a casual sunset meal

Shuckers has a great view of the sunset over the water and reasonably-priced, decent seafood and drinks. A good place to head to right off the beach or the water for some steamers and beers.

• Cons: Can be a long wait for a table, grungy bathrooms

Go for the food. Stay for the drinks. Enjoy the exceptional service and friendly management. The atmosphere cannot be beat, and you more than get what you pay for!
