I live in Palm Beach and my hair guy who has been doing my hair for ten years had moved to the west coast which create a real problem me because I am a freak about my hair cut and style. My hair is very long but I must have a style maintained. A freind of mine who works for Escada found Todd Phillip through some models who she uses in her fashion shows. All I have to say is it was quite an experience and the first time I have ever had my hair cut dry and I absolutely love, and I do mean love my new hair. Todd was meticulous about each hair he cut with what I would call masterful artistry and gave me quite a beautiful blow-out. What a relief and well worth the drive to Miami.

I just moved from Los Angeles to Miami and have been traveling back and forth to get my hair cut which is crazy! A friend of mine from L.A actually heard of a stylist in miami by the name of Todd Phillip who's reprutation is up to L.A. hairstylist Standards..lol as we in L.A. take hair very seriously! I fond him through the city search web site and when I went to see him I was plesently surprised to find that he not only made me happy with my hair but he made me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world! sigh....His hands have quite a special and very magical touch. I love him already and he has made my move to Miami so much better...sigh.. Thank you Todd

Well - i haven't been to this site in a while and thought it be interesting to scroll through and read the most current reviews. Came across little miss not so fabulous comments in february 2008 and poor thing must have been at some other salon. I've been going to Paula and her salon for over 10 years and I have NEVER seen Paula treat a client the way this little miss not so fabulous describes. It's unfortunate as Paula has always been the "social worker" for clients who are in dire need of corrective color. I think little miss not so fabulous is just upset at the fact that Paula could not create a miracle in a day on the bad color job she received over at the in house JC Penney hair salon. As for your big T.V. career, trust me, not to many people are watching public channels these days. In fact, the realty of Paula's salon is this, she is so good that on any given day while lunching on Lincoln Road you can ear hustle on ladies conversation at the next table, one telling the other, you have see Paula at Paula's salon for your color. She is the best and if she wasn't she wouldn't have been in business for as long as she has which is over 10 years. Therefore, with that said, she must be doing something right. If you want great color, cut, good atmosphere and comfort go to Paula's. It's the best salon on the Beach.

Pros: the Entire Salon is a pro

I have used a million different salons and always complain about the orange in my hair. This is the first time I am happy with my color. I found Paula through this website and took a chance! I love the atmosphere, friendliness and comfort I find in the salon. Paula treats me like a friend when I go and always listens to what I want. She gives me her opinion on what would look best on me and with my type of hair. I can't forget to tell you about Todd. He is quite a character and does the best blow-outs ever! It is always a great experience and you leave the salon feeling like a million dollars! I would recommend both of them without any hesitation.

So, I am in Miami Beach a few times a year and my last visit unfortunately coincided with a need for a haircut. I like my hometown stylist and was nervous about finding a place that could rival my her quality and consistency. I did a little research and walked into Paula's. I was nervous because I'm not 100% comfortable in a salon environment (being a guy & all), but I was put quickly at ease and scheduled an appointment later that day with Jess. Needless to say I walked out a very happy customer. Not only did Jess translate what I described to her perfectly but she also executed it flawlessly. The icing on the cake is that we had a great conversation and she put me completely at ease...the time flew by. I now have to start scheduling my trips down to Miami around my haircuts.

This salon was great! I've only been once. I was on vacation in Miami a couple weeks ago and needed highlights so bad. I usually don't go to just anyone. I have blonde hair and I don't like to use bleach because it dries my hair out. Anyway, my friend reccommended I see Jess at Paula's. I took her advice and went in and could not be happier with my hair. Jess was so nice and listened to everything I said and did an even better job than the person I regularly see! I plan on going back to her whenever I'm in Miami.

Paula's newest stylist Jessica Sarkis is the best at cutting men's hair. I have had my hair cut by Jess and have traveled nationally and internationally where people are constantly complimenting me on the cut, and ask, "Who cut your hair?" Call Paula's and schedule time with Jess - you will never be disappointed and will leave Paula's saying, "This is the best hair cut I ever had" and just wait until your friends and family see it - they'll be calling for an appointment too!

I have searched high and low for a stylist who really listens to me, whose judgement I can trust, and who can deliver the results I want. I have found her! I am very particular, and Paula always takes the time to listen to me. Communication with a stylist is so important. I have had so many bad experiences with stylists who don't listen. Paula always takes the time to make sure she understands what her clients want so that they leave the salon happy. I have never been disappointed. What I appreciate most about Paula is her attention to detail. She is as particular as I am about every little thing. I highly recommend her for corrective color as well. I brought in a friend who was traumatized by a bad experience at an upscale salon in Bal Harbour. The stylist had not listened to her at all and when he tried to fix it had made it even worse. It was a stripey multi-colored mess. I insisted that she go to Paula's, and Paula and Brandy fixed it. My friend's hair looks fabulous and she gets tons of compliments on it now. So, bottom line, if you are looking for a colorist who really knows her stuff, will listen to you, and will make sure you leave the salon happy. Paula is it.

Pros: Expertise, attention to detail, communication

Cons: It's not cheap (but it's worth it.)

I whole-heartedly recommend all the services -- haircuts, hair coloring, manicure, pedicure, spa services, etc. -- offered at Paula's Salon in Miami Beach. I'm a writer and community activist and have to look good for public appearances. I went to blonde from very dark brown hair 8 years ago and, thanks to owner Paula Sperduto's talent and concern for how each and every one of her clients looks, my hair is fabulous. I am often stopped on the street and asked, who cuts your hair? No kidding, it's that good! And the color is so natural-looking, so in tune with my eyes and skin tones, that when I tell people my color is not what I was born with, that it comes from a bottle, they really have trouble believing it. It took me three miserable years of searching and too many botched hair jobs before I found this terrific salon on Miami Beach. On the beach, hairdressers come and go and can nonchalantly screw up a lot of cuts and color and not care, but this salon is a keeper. Not only is everything top-notch and professional -- equal if not superior to salons I've patronized in New York City, London, Paris, and Bombay -- but the ambiance is wonderful. It's a friendly salon with nice people. No one puts on airs or looks down on clients. (Lots of other places you can go to for that!) It's a pleasure to come here and interact with the staff, from the lovely girl who washes hair, the fun young receptionist, those who provide spa and nail services, and the extremely skilled hair styling and coloring professionals who do such wonders daily with each and every person who walks in the door. I cannot imagine anyone badmouthing this terrific place, where everyone knows your name and is so glad you came. I'd be totally lost without Paula. Again, there are some pretty bad salons on the beach, salons that overcharge, stylists that botch up hair and color; Paula's Salon is not one of them. Paula fixes what other salons botch. This is the best. Just that: the best. Make your hair happy.

that not so fabulous retard looks like she has more going on with her than the fact that she was not given the "attention" she wanted.. poor creature they cant change your face only your hair honey... I own a pilates studio in the area which all my clients go to paulas... not one has been dissapointed... they are all wonderful and Todd is always sweet so that person just sounds bitter... anyways back to the salon, its not intimidating like most salons with the stylists dressed in club clothes all gossipping the minute the client leaves the place..It's classy and fun and you can literally get your hair done while your getting a pedicure and wax and be out in an hour or so.. and its top notch... so from someone who has been to the best LA New York Chicago.. its really the only salon that can fit you in when you want make your hair perfect and the right color for your skintone and not break the bank and Paula is honest real besides beautiful and knows what shes doing...
