Great spot to eat and check out!
by LocalMB
This place has been around for over 30 years for a good reason. The food, service, cafe con lech, and the fact that it’s open 24-7 are all great reasons to try it. If your looking for a that is full of city officials, police, fire, locals and travelers from around the world you got to try David’s Cafe. The café con leche is to die for and the Cuban Sandwich will leave your mouth wanting more. I go there about 3 times a week!
- Pros: Best Cuban Food in town
- Cons: Non that I know of!
Great food, service and affordable prices!!

After walking on Lincoln Avenue for over half an hour and being borbarded with so many restaurant choices we ran into David's Cafe II. From the outside the restaurant looks like a whole-in-a-wall, but it is very spacious inside. To my surprise the restaurant was packed, which meant that the food had to be good otherwise all those people would not be there. Our waittress was very nice, brought us water right away. We ordered breakfast: orange juice, cafecito (cuban coffe with milk), cuban bread, scrambled eggs, bacon and fried potatoes (not to be comfused with french fries). The food was great, my friends and I are going back for dinner tonight. The price for my meal was about $10.00 dollars, I ended up paying about $22.00 for my friend's meal and mine; very cheap compared to last night's bill of $150.00 at Texas de Brazil. By the way Texas de Brazil is another must go to restaurant in South Beach. If you are looking for GREAT food without spending a fortune David;s is the place to go. I have no idea why the last two reviews gave David's a one star, I definitelly recomment it!!
P.S.
Did I mention that Shakira, Enrique Iglesias,The Governator, Paulina Rubio, Don Francisco, Gloria Estefan and many other stars have eaten at David's the pictures hanging on the wall are proof of that. I have good taste when it comes to food and so do the above mentioned people. So what are you waiting for? Give it a try!!
HotDogs, Wings, fries, Beer?

Geared for the tourist...... Sucked... I did find a place geared for those that miss nyc foods.... The place is Muncheez located between 65th and 66 street on collins... They have sabretts Hotdogs !!! and its not sitting in water allday. They grill it for you on the spot... Off the hook .. Oh the prices off the hook... Mad nice people in there too.. No short cuts in there... just good food... Not a date place though.... or maybe it is ... Very private and right across the street from the beach... Dam how good is that..Oh you wouldn't beleive this one either.. they do buffalo wings with Achor buffalo wing sauce... The real deal.. I don't know how these guys make money there... It's so inexpensive... Good luck to you guys in Muncheez..
- Pros: Nice people
- Cons: Pasta in a authentic cuban restaraunt?
We are locals: BAD, EXPENSIVE, don't bother!!

Everyone on here that thinks this is inexpensive must be think that Nobu is fast food. Many have heard of David's Cafe in Miami Beach - There are two locations - one here, and one just behind Lincoln Road. This place is for tourists (and priced accordingly), though locals do pop in if they are pressed for time and must. The food is amazingly substandard and should not be considered representative of the great Cuban cuisine available here in Miami/Miami Beach (there are much better restaurants for 1/3 the price). If you are a tourist and want to try Cuban food - I would skip this and go to Versailles, (or anything else in Little Havana), or if you want something within walking distance from your hotel in South Beach, go to Puerto Sagua. The cafecito is about double what you would normally pay, and an order of HORRIBLE fries is about $4.00. You will pay with tax and tip roundabouts $17 for a beef or chicken steak meal ( which should be half the price or less). And none of it is actually good. If you are ordering from the outside window, the servers will take all their friends' orders first and make you wake upwards of 15 minutes to get a coffee. Basically - don't bother!! It's not good food, it's not real cuban food, and it's not worth the hassle or tourist prices. Skip this disgusting joint and enjoy something that is actually remarkable- South Beach has a lot better to offer!! - A group of South Beach residents
- Pros: Their way of robbing tourists is non-violent
- Cons: Food (it tastes nothing like real cuban food), Service, Price - $2.50 gatorade, $17 meal that should be $6!?
really good cuban sandwich
by urbanasian
came here for lunch and was seated promptly. ordered the cuban sandwich and the lunch buffet. the the cuban was delicious. first time i had it and it tasted wonderful. the lunch buffet was good also but limited selection. the prices were decent for both. would go there again.
- Pros: cuban sandwich
- Cons: $1.75 can of soda...order water
This casual Lincoln Road eatery offers up big portions of cheap Cuban cuisine with a smile.

In Short
Diners hungry for quality without frills will enjoy the large dining room and long curving bar with a wall of signed photos of Latin celebrities. Few other places in South Beach serve a steak the size of a manhole cover for less than 12 bucks with a choice of three sides. For a little less get a platter of appetizers. Flan is cheesy and delicious. Viscous cafe Cubano could power the Challenger into orbit.
GREAT ! !

Cuban treat
by theduke37
You'd never know there was pretty good food here from the storefront. Duck behind the diner and takeout counter into a comfortable dining room. Food here is simple, fresh, well-prepared and comes in large portions. Service is good, and the value is tremendous compared to Lincoln Road/South Beach surroundings.
- Pros: Simple, quality food, Good service, Location
- Cons: Unassuming storefront
Great Cuban Food on Lincoln Road
by bartolomez
Down home cuban food, great service at any hour of day or nite. I love this place not just for good cuban food but for people watching and listening. I like their sampler platter can make a lite meal for two on its own. When I have late nite craving for a Cuban cafe con leche on the beach this is the place.
- Pros: location, food, friendly service
- Cons: a little expensive
Could Be Better
by katial
With all of the Cubans in Dade County, you'd think the food could be better. It's bland and tasteless, served by waiters who seem to wish they were somewhere else.
- Pros: middle of South Beach
- Cons: Poor Service, Bland Food, Too Expensive
