I was sorry to hear about the experience described by PearlGirl and felt compelled to write so that anyone who reads these reviews will hear the other side of the story. I have been a frequent customer of La Palma since it opened fifteen years ago and have always enjoyed the best of service, the warm and welcoming environment, the delightful entertainment and the delicious food. I can't imagine how a chat with the manager would not have helped to resolve any issues she was experiencing, but I hope she and her companion(s) will give it another shot sometime in the future.

Pros: Incredible ambience. A real gem.

Cons: The beautiful old building is tucked away on a side street and not enough people are aware of its location.

I never write reviews or participate in chats,, but after reading the only negative comment below, (which is probably written by a competitor as it seems they managed to hate everything as if they were using a checklist and I saw the exact same word for word review for another local restaurant) I had to respond. I always schedule my important business meetings there because everything has been consistently great. I am Italian and this is how Italian food is supposed to taste. I am a difficult customer, but this is a restaurant that deserves all of the accolades they have received..

With so many great restaurants in Coral Gables, La Palma has an edge. I went with a colleague of mine and we wanted to go to some where different. It has a great ambiance and the cuisine to match. With a top notch business lunch buffet and service that is superb, it was a great dining experience! Their tiramisu was excellent!

I'm shocked to read these reviews! I was there last night for dinner and had one of the worst dining experiences of my life. We waited 45 minutes for our food. During those 45 minutes we didn't see our waiter once and had to ask someone else for water and to check on our meal. When it finally came, I had the crab ravioli my companion had the snapper, it was horrible. I've made better tasting crab ravioli. I wasted $25 dollars and an hour of my life. Finally when it came time to pay our waiter was of course right there so we were able to get out quickly which was the only plus. Except that he blatantly looked to see right in front of us how much we had given him, 15% even though service was awful, and scowled at us! I will NOT be returning.

La Palma is on of the few restaurants that I will frequent for both Lunch and dinner. The atmoshphere for lunch is friendly and lively and the food is always outstanding. At dinner the atmosphere is romantic and cozy , especially when Oscar and Armando are performing. The menu is extensive and if you fancy something not on the menu La Palma will accomadate you if possible. The courtyard offers the best outdoor dining in Miami.

Pros: Valet parking at lunch only $1.00. Live entertainment and friendly staff

The first thing you notice about La Palma is the building, nestled in against the giant banks and buildings of Coral Gables, its like its from another time. Be sure to sit outside if the weather is good. The courtyard with its lights and trees is a pleasure to eat in. The food is excellent and the recommendations from the wait staff is great! Dont forget desert. In addition to eating here regularly, we held our wedding here in December 05. The restaurant puts on a great performance as its transformed into a truly unique, beautiful setting that will definitely be remembered.

I absolutely love this place..Oscar and Armando are the best team of performers. Oscar does a great Nat King Cole..Armando is the sweetest. Whenever i'm asked where i want to dine is always at La Palma. I definetely recommend it to everyone that wants to have a great evening! The food is delicious, the staff is very friendly. Tino is great! and when the evenings get cooler its lovely to sit outside under all the lights...
