Lost her touch
by msinfomiami
i got a haircut there and was not happy about it at the end. but what could i really say, it was done and over with and nothing could be done but to wait for it to grow out. i realized that my stylist, though nice and entertaining, had lost her modern touch and didn't have the ability to adapt to what i had asked for. apparently she has been cuttin hair for 15+ years so she has plenty of experience, however after what she did to my hair i realized she had lost her sense of style. i should've realized this the minute i saw her own hair and she said she maintains it herself. it was NOT what i wanted for my own hair. so in the end, what it seems like to me is i got my hair done by someone who has experience but lost her edge- like those ladies that own their own salons where my gramma goes to get her hair done because my gramma knows that their style is ALWAYS the same and never evolving. how tragic for a hairstylist, who should be known to always be fresh and with the latest on the newest styles.
SO- if u want a basic cut, go to her- at least she's dependable and won't make it uneven. On the other hand, if you want something fresh, look for someplace else.
- Pros: friendly
- Cons: lost modern touch
Fabulous Color by Jackie
by opcagirl
I moved to Miami from DC and wanted to find an Aveda salon because I like Aveda color. I went to Aruj in Coconut Grove and am so happy that I found a great stylist and colorist in Jackie. She is very friendly and attentive ... as is everyone in the salon ... and did a fabulous job with my cut and color. I highly recommend her.
- Pros: Staff, salon results
- Cons: Parking
Tara is truly amazing!!!
by Rachel6169
Tara is the bomb!! She knows style and I am always confident that I will get a great cut. The layed back atmosphere makes the whole experience relaxing and fun. I recently had a makeover as a favor for my friend who is on a national t.v. show and now I find myself running to Tara to fix the damage that this famous celebrity hair colorist and stylist did to my hair. I only trust Tara to undo this mess. Never again will I stray. I have a few friends that also get their hair done by Tara and as with myself they always receive compliments from random strangers. Love heeerrrr!
- Pros: Tara
definitely recommend this place!
by rscheibner
I visited this salon, recommended by a friend, because I was looking for a "new" style. Short and easy to care for -- Tara was my stylist and she was WONDERFUL (I cannot understand how the other reviewer thought Tara was rude -- she is great!!). They started out giving me a great neck massage with a peppermint oil (which helped to cool me off), and Tara told me how she was going to cut my hair for my "new" style -- called the "Tara 2000" haircut. I get so many compliments on my new haircut. It was really a great experience. I'll definitely be back.
- Pros: friendly staff, great atmosphere, great products and services
- Cons: parking meters outside -- Coconut Grove area in general -- are troublesome
Best Salon in Coconut Grove

If you want a taste of relaxation amidst the hustle and bustle of hectic Miami, then visiting Aruj salon and spa is a must! The spa services are fabulous! I spent 2 hours with Collette the massage therapist/ facialist and was transported by the wonderful aromas, music and last but not least, her phenominal touch! I aslo use Aruj for my haircuts and color! If you are in need of an updated do, See Sarah or Jessica. I've used both of them for cut and color and they did a fabulous job! Not only are the services awesome, but they carry the Aveda product line!! I highly reccommend the salon and spa !!
- Pros: Great products, Great staff
worst salon in miami
by randij44
From the moment I walked in, the front desk person was very rude. I had to wait 30 minutes for my hairstylist Tara to get done with another client. When I finally sat down to discuss what I was looking for in a cut, she seemed preoccupied and was very rude. She was too busy talkng to the other stylists. The salon is a mess and very dirty. Then to top it all off While I was getting my hairdryed, I see a rodent run along the floor. I asked to speak to the Manager, and had to wait another 15 minutes for her. I explained how disappointed I was and she was also very rude and unapologetic. The worst experience I have ever had at a salon.
- Pros: Manicurist named Anna
- Cons: dirty, rude staff and manager, worst haircut
Aveda lifestyle salon and spa combines aromatherapy treatments with hair styling, facials and body treatments.

In Short
Relaxation seekers are greeted at the door by an Aveda retail shop and gold-stained concrete floors that lead to seven hair stations and earth-toned nail and treatment rooms. Bustling weekends see couples indulging in hour-long massages or bride-and-groom packages that include therapeutic facials, massages and pedicures. Walk-ins have the best chance during the week, when it's mostly out-of-towners enjoying mud wraps and hair coloring services.

See Ana
by ursulu
Are your feet neglected? Do youu wear sandals, or worse yet, flip-flops day in and day out? Then do like I do and come see Ana. Sh will make your feet look and feel like new.
It's like she just KNOWS what you need. She quietly rubs, buffs, scrapes, softens, and smoothes even the nastiest of feet. When she finishes with you you won't believe it. She's one in a million. My feet look like perfection since I've been going to Ana.
- Pros: Best Pedicure, Quuiet and Relaxed, Unhurried
