Negligent Animal Care
by jbrwn at Citysearch
DO NOT take your pets here. This place is run by staff and technicians, and the vet is almost never in. My dogs were given a hip X-ray but we were told to talk to the vet when he comes in later on the phone! My dog got a dental cleaning here and the spot they shaved for anesthesia got infected. When we brought the dog in, the staff said the vet was not going to be in during the time his kids were on the spring break. Then, who sees all the pets during that time? The staff and technicians! This place is extremely unprofessional and negligent. I would never go back again.
- Pros: nice building
- Cons: Vet is never in; expensive; long wait time
Compassionate, proactive, skilled

We've taken all of our dogs here and have never had a bad experience. To those complaining that staff does a great deal, thats how all medicine works these days and it is also how new vets get trained. You can't expect the Vet to do all of the mundane tasks. Just be happy that he hires compassionate and excellent assistants and technicians. We've had dogs my entire 44 years and I have never had a better vet for them than for my 3 dogs now and previously in another marriage 3 others.
- Pros: Excellent care
Spotless clinic and excellent vet!

I found this animal clinic out of an emergency. I had adopted a puppy a few days ago, when she began to have stomach problems. I called the number at 9pm, left a message and (having never been a client at the facility) received a call from Dr. Sanchez 20 minutes later. He spoke kindly and concerned, and asked that I come by with the puppy the next morning and would fit me in between patients. The location from 27th avenue did not look very nice at all, which was worrisome, but once I parked outside the back and walked in all my concerns disappeared. The facility is beautiful and spotless (it smelled great, considering it is a vet's office). The technician saw me immediately, was very knowledgeable and the doctor saw me a few minutes later. He is very knowledgeable about nutrition and provided extensive guidance on taking care of the puppy going forward. The attention I received here was excellent and I would highly recommend them. I had a dog 10 years ago with a vet farther away, and never had this type of service or facilities there. They also assist in preparing insurance claims, so that's a plus if you've got coverage.
Thanks Dr. Sanchez!
- Pros: Clean facilities, excellent staff, caring vet
- Cons: none

Great Care, Exceptional Service, Fantastic Vet
by CupOFDog at Citysearch
I had my little dog spayed at this clinic and they did a wonderful job and kept in contact with me the whole day. The pre-op / post-op appointments were included in the surgery. The staff is kind and loving. Great vet/ homey office and awesome animal care. Vet is knowledgeable about nutrition and promotes natural/ holistic feeding. Would recommend to anyone who needs vet care.
- Pros: Easy to get to, warm office, great staff, great vet
- Cons: pricier then others - but not crazy - and its worth it.

Silver Bluff Animal Clinic in Miami
Good, friendly and passionate about animals. Staff is young, but caring.
- Cons: Although staff is pleasant, the vet is Not Caring.
Caring and thorough
by naomicomerford at Citysearch
Pros
Caring, holistic, knows a lot about nutrition (many vets don't!), is available outside of office hours for emergencies (most vet's tell you to call the 24-hour animal hospital), Saturday hours, he does the surgeries
Cons
On the expensive side, staff/technicians do a lot of the leg work (shots, etc.).

1) My clinic is run by myself (the sole veterinarian), Maria,my office manager and a wonderful staff. All of us work closely to provide exceptional service.
2)I am at SBAC ~8-9 hrs every day (Sat included) except Thurs ( emergencies only). If I am not in I am easily reached and live minutes away.
3) When not working, I spend my free time with my wife and 3 kids.

These clients dropped off 2 dogs,. We called after the procedures and told them that I would talk to them upon pickup. Later that afternoon, I discussed the dental and spent time explaining their dogs hip condition. We followed-up the next day and they indicated that Harry was licking the catheter site. We offered a recheck. He came early on Wed (5 days after) and was told that I would be in later. They went elsewhere. I called offering help with any complication. They refused.

Even the reviewers who gave 4-5 starts below mention the following:
"Cons: Although staff is pleasant, the vet is Not Caring."
"On the expensive side, staff/technicians do a lot of the leg work (shots, etc.)."
So let pet owners judge themselves.

The vet complains that the dog came in 5 days later without appointment and that we did not bring the dog back to his place. I found these complaints hard to understand. The dog's licking after the dental cleaning turned to limping and crying the night before. We brought the dog to the clinic next morning at the earliest time it opens for a quick look.
jbrwn– April 22, 2009 at 10:42:31 PDT
There was no time to make an appointment. We were told by staff that although the clinic is open the vet is away until next week (not on that day or that morning), and were simply given to a collar, which was inadequate for a dog in pain crying and limping.
We took the dog to a clinic where there is a vet “during its office hours” and declined to take the dog back to this clinic where he got dental cleaning, and as a result, got skin necrosis (diagnosed to be the case).
jbrwn– April 22, 2009 at 10:45:43 PDT
Our dog's skin cells are dying from the leg to the chest. I read that skin necrosis is caused by drug-induced damage to (a)blood vessel(s). The vet says: no, it is caused by shaving and catheter placement. Whatever the truth is, we were not warned about this before/after the cleaning and wish that this clinic performed the shaving and catheter placement procedure in a way that would not have caused skin necrosis. --"these clients"

Your comment is completely contrary to everything I have ever experienced with Dr. Sanchez during the last 5 years. Caring, available, proactive, and fantastic. I have never had a bad experience and I have 3 dogs now and had 4 others with my previous marriage. Sounds like you didn't get what you wanted in one day and decided to judge based on one experience.
