Lavin Baby Center are theives, and I can not believe that they are getting away with what they have done to so many families. I paid my furniture in FULL which I have receipts for. After calling them to scheduledelivery of my $2300 funiture set, their excuse was that their warehouse got flooded and the insurance company was going to replace my damaged furniture. When 6 weeks went by I decided to call Lavin to check status. They were completly gone. No phone numbers, no company, and worst of all I had NO FURNITURE. I have heard stories from other families that this has happeed to and in one case their was $15,000 that merchandise was never delivered for. I think that everyone affected should get together under one lawyer, and go after their assets. I want my money back, whatever I can get. Anyopne that would like to do something about this or can give me any sort of information please contact me by e-mail at r_jarro@yahoo dot c0m. Theres no point in warning people about it now, its not like Lavin even exists anymore. We have been robbed, and we know who robbed us so are we just going to let them get away with this? Please contact me ASAP. I need my money, you nedd your money. Together we will make more of an impact. Does anyone know who their lawyer is? Or if anyone can please give me direction. Thanks. PS. Ruddy and Willy should be thrown in jail. Willy is a coward for using his wife to face the customer and lie to their faces. She is even worse actually take part in it. They are criminals. THEY STOLD OUR MONEY, and they are roaming around free! I would like to take legal action, I am willing to get my own lawyer or go under somebody elses. UNION? yeah.

Cons: Con-ARTIST is what they are. The con is giving them lots and lots of money and recieving nothing in return.

I paid for a crib and was suppose to go pick it up. Had to pay it in full because it was on clearance and they didnt allow layaway on cribs. Went to pick it up and they were GONE! Fraud isnt the word, they should be ashamed of themselves. Having a baby is suppose to be a happy moment you dont expect to be stressed. Would love to know what TV station did the story on them. I disputed with my card, and placed complaints with consumer services and better business. Luckily I paid with my card. I got my money back and bought my baby a new crib at La Ideal. But I feel sorry for the people who paid cash...only way of getting that is a going to court. That is my next step. Half tempted to go to their house. On sunbiz dot com it gives their home address. Willy's wife, the only daughter of the original owner her father has dragged her poor dead fathers name through the mud. The old man must me turning in his grave. God doesnt like ugly...they will get theirs.

WOW, I am so glad to see that you are all writing up on this. It happened to me too, ordered furniture 9/2007, promised for Nov or Dec. which was ridiculous that it would take 8-10 weeks right. But I know we all believed them, well yeah after calling every week and being told that it was in the next delivery and that for sure by 12/17/07 I would be receiving it, I called on the 20th to find phones were disconnected. Showed up on the 21st to find them loading trucks, saying for inventory. When I asked for Willy, they said I'd need to speak to his attorney, who doesn't come to the phone, by the way. Then I called Bonavita too, and to my surprise, they told me Willy had not placed orders there in a very long time. So yes he commited fraud against all of us and we definitely need to do something about this. I disputed with my credit card and they took off $1,400, but I had paid $600 in cash as well ( all up front) how stupid I felt. I did hear that one of the news stations has put the story out there. This story needs to be told to everyone so that this man cannot open another store and do this to even more people.

Cons: They commit fraud

These people knew exactly what they were doing. I paid for a full set of furniture that was on display and the bed was broken. They stated that they would replace the headboard in 12 weeks. This was back in July 2007, I made several phone calls to the store and was always given all the excuses in the book. From the order was placed to it's out for delivery next week. I just found out that the strore closed it's doors in December without any notice. I have called my credit card company but I have no claim due to the time that has passed. Please let me know if anyone brings any action against them.

This store stole our money too! I had the same problem as the other two customers. I paid for a changing table/dresser on 10/14/2007, and the store promised to deliver in early December because they had to put it on backorder. I called the store several times in early December and they confirmed that the furniture would be delivered as promised and that they would contact us when it would be out for delivery. I then stopped by the store and found that it had closed and had not notified any of its customers. All phones were disconnected and there is no way of getting in contact with them. I would like to take legal action, if you have any suggestions on how to handle this, please let me know.

My wife and I bought furniture at this store for our first baby. We called the week before the delivery to get an update and noticed the phones were disconected. Went to the store and it is closed. Seems like the store is out of business. So far it seems like we lost our money, now starts the legal action...

I placed a 50% deposit on baby furniture from Lavin on 10/27/07. I was told it will take from 8 to 12 weeks for delivery. I went by the store before Christmas and it was closed for inventory. I called the store and the line was disconnected. It appears the store has closed and has not contacted any of its customers. I spoke with another couple who placed an order at Lavin and they called the furniture manufacturer (Bonavita). Manufacturer stated Lavin Baby Center has not placed any other for furniture. Needless to say there will be legal action taken against Lavin Baby Center. I recommend any other Lavin customer to do the same.

Pros: None

Cons: The store stoled customers' money

I had the worst experience while trying to purchase a juveline furniture set. I placed the order with a 50% downpayment on September 10th and a promise to have the goods at home within 6 to 8 weeks maximum. I followed up every week after the expected delivery date (around Thaksgivings) and I always received excusses and no delivery day from the manager (Rudy). Since the store has a NO return policy - I felt stuck after having paid already $825. Therefore, I followed up with the owner, Willy, for more the four times between the 8 to the 13 weeks. On December 10th, after my fifth coversation with Willy and still with NO serious commitment for a delivery date, I saw a light at the end of the tunnel. Since I had paid with a chase Visa and I was able to place a dispute after the 13th weeks. To date, close to January, I still have not receive a call from the storeowner. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE TO ANYONE. M. Lazo, Miami Florida.

Pros: Location close to the Falls Shooping Center

Cons: Customer service, return policy and ambience
