Andy Horne and John Hernandez are two the the best and most expierenced martial arts instructors in South Florida. This is an age appropriate traditional Karate program in a safe enviorement. John and Andy were not only great tournament champions but they have been for years trainers of champions. Whether you are looking for to become a karate champion, learn self defense, fitness or self discipline for a child or an adult this school is for you.

Pros: Awesome Overall

We were refered to Sensei John Hernandez and Shehan Andy Horne by a trusted Instructor earlier this year after having a bad experience with another Dojo. My first impression was pretty solid. I was introduced to Sensei Hernandez who is a no-nonsence individual dedicated to a purpose, his purpose to pass on the Art in its original form. Promotions are based on merit and not popularity. Which is what I was seeking for my children (4 & 7). The more time I spent at the Dojo, watching the members work I could not resist the desire to get involved myself, for fitness and the mere beauty of the Artform I had had the pleasure of watching. It became almost impossible for me not to take advantage of the Kickboxing and Yoga Classes, and a few weeks ago I took a Karate Class for the first time with my daughters. This School is known to be the first of its kind in this part of Florida, the instruction is given in formal yet family friendly environment, parents are encouraged to participate with open arms, I have found not only Great Instruction for my children and myself - but a place where our family has been welcomed and made to feel comfortable as members of a truly great Dojo, something we respect and treasure - a rarity in these times.

Pros: Solid Instruction. Family enviroment.

My daughter has been a student at Andy Horne's school for a year, now, and I couldn't possibly be more pleased. Sensei John and his black belts offer caring, skilled, personalized instruction with flexible scheduling and reasonable tuition. Although we liked the school a year ago, when we first started, so many improvements have been made to make it even better. The school has been beautifully remodeled to make the learning environment more pleasant. New classes are continually being added. The enthusiasm of the instructors and students is contagious. We're lucky that we found this wonderful school.

Seven years ago, I was lucky enough to find the Andy Horne's Martial Art Academy. I was twenty six years old back then, and I was lost and out of shape. My journey show me the way to be a better person, a confident human being, and a great karate practitioner. I am better today thanks to this school and all the marvelous teachers that I have been fortunate to find at this great place. I am ready to become part of the black belt group very soon, and I can not wait to be part of this school's history. Thank you!

Pros: totally remodeled school

Cons: none

Being of Okinawan descent, it is extremely important to my family that I am taught in a very traditional manner. This school has offered me a journey into the roots of my heritage, not only its arts, but also its history, its lineage, I could go on and on, but I could sum it up as a true budo dojo and they are teaching the correct do [the "way"]. If I have to explain anymore, you'd just never understand. Try the experience of true karate-do for yourself.

Pros: Everything

Cons: none
