We just ate there (a Tuesday evening) and were amazed at the down turn this place has taken. It was just flat awful, tasteless, and not worth the money. It appears that the owner (also owns Casa Tejas in Homestead) is taking money out and putting none in. The rush-seated chairs are now refitted with flat plywood, which is no fun to sit on. Even the commode isn't fit to sit on...and there's not even a manager on site to run things or talk to about the problems. There isn't a manager any time, come to find out, as a means of saving money. I ordered shredded beef and received PINK ground beef instead. My companion ordered chicken and even that was undercooked. No thanks. There were no flavors in any of the food- not even salt. Bland, bland, bland. The hot sauce tasted like tomato paste and strong Bermuda onions and little else. Nothing appeared to be made on site - from the salt-less, stale chips to the frijoles that tasted like the vegetarian version right from a can. This used to be a fairly good place, so no wonder we could now find a parking place during prime time dining. What a let down. The food really is better at Taco Bell - it's cleaner, safer, and seasoned on several levels.
Pros: Easy to get a table
Cons: Tasteless food, nothing to do with Mexico, not what it used to be

I agree with the original, professional review of this restaurant. This place does nothing for Mexican food's reputation. The salsa was horrible. The tomatoes tasted canned, and there was not a hint of flavor. The guacamole (if you could actually call it that) had the texture of runny slime and the flavor of water. The rest of our platters were loaded with too much cheese that was extremely oily and never really melted properly. The rice was dried out and crunchy. We were very disappointed. Mexican food is a family fave and we left it all there. We will not return. I do not reccoment this place to anyone. This is NOT good Mexican food.
Cons: , Poor Quality Food

Great Food, Great Value, Great Margaritas, and an escape from the ever present chain-restaurant scene here in SW miami. Great for those who want a little something off the beaten path, without driving to Homestead. The size is small, but the decor colorful, and there are even a few tables outside for those breezy evenings. Also a great lunch date spot.
Pros: Inexpensive, Casual, Original

This cozy little Mexican bistro will be a tremendous hit. Located just north of the Falls on the east side of US-1. Dining on a Saturday night be prepared to wait a little but you will be able to enjoy an excellent array of mexican cervezas and or cocktails with there homemade salsas and chips on the patio out front. We were seated in about 15min and the services was excellent.....the food was delicious....try the frajitas and the black bean soup....The place is great for the family and an excellent deal for the $$$ See ya at the next one....
