It's no coincidence that one of South Florida's most romantic bars is in one of the city's most romantic hotels.

The Scene
You might miss this spot unless you know exactly where it is--and that's what most of the regular patrons are counting on. Nestled in a corner on the lobby floor of the Biltmore Hotel--on the adjact to the Palme D'or--is a dimly lit lounge with high ceilings and beautifully designed floors. Deep-cushioned chairs hug you as soft music creates ambience without interrupting conversation. Like everything in this 75-year-old landmark, the bar is plush, making even ordinary drinks feel like a special occasion. One of Miami's best-kept secrets, this bar doesn't offer the kind of scene that tourists flock to Sin City for. In addition to guests at the hotel, patrons include regulars who relish the refuge from the usual bar scene and people waiting for dinner at the Palm d'Or or enjoying an after-dinner drink.

"The Sunday Brunch of Kings."

by bigtimela

This is an event well worth the wait of a week. Every Sunday, The 1200 offers a brunch unlike anything I have ever seen before. Needless to say, the options are absolutely amazing. Shrimp cocktail, sushi, a carving station that would make a vegetarian think twice about breaking diet for the day, and so much more. A reservation is key around the 12 o'clock hour due to the mad demand for such a delightful menu. Simply put, bring an appetite and forget about the diet for a day. The price of admission is well worth the satisfaction of mouth-watering treats that are offered at this relaxing venue. The ambiance is no doubt soothing as one is surrounded by beautiful palm trees and the sound of water splashing from the immense Victorian fountain at center court. Indulgence is a beautiful thing, when practiced at a stage like this. L.A.

Brasserie in the Biltmore Hotel serves South Florida and Mediterranean dishes such as gazpacho, mahi-mahi, steamed mussels and sirloin steak.

A wine-lover's paradise inside one of Miami's most romantic hotels.

by Sandra Ramani

The Scene
More prominently located than the Biltmore's other bar, the Biltmore Lounge, Corkscrew differs from its sister bar in vibe, too; while the Lounge cultvates a clubby, old-world feel, the non-smoking Corkscrew is most definitely a wine bar. Just five tables and bar-stool seating for seven means the space can easily get packed, especially as both locals and hotel guests flock here before dinner, or for a night cap. Soft music helps create the mood.

The Draw
Nearly 50 wines are available by the glass, and more are offered in bottles; featured countries include Chile, France, Argentina, Italy, Australia and, of course, the U.S. (Calitfornia and Oregon wines are both well-represented). A full bar, stocked with notable liquors and after-dinner drinks, is also on hand.
