My !st & Last time I go – It was my boyfriends birthday and we decided to go to "The Knife" since neither of us had ever been. Despite us questioning "didn't someone say this place was garbage"? we decided to give this place a chance. I am sorry and regretful that we did. Although we did not have a wait and we sat right away, the space seemed a little cluttered (too many tables close together). We sat and although the service was good, they automatically assumed we spoke spanish and began to the introduction and pointing out where everything was at in Spanish. I do speak Spanish but my boyfriend isn't fluent. I don't like when people do this nor do I think it's professional. We went to the salad bar and that was decent but once we were done with that we went to "the grill" area and I was far less then unimpressed, and thats to say the least. The cook did not speak English and he spoke a dialect of spanish that made it difficult to understand. My boyfriend and I chose 2 pieces of meat that seemed OK because nothing really called out or looked too appetizing. We began to eat and if we had 3 bites that was too much. The food was flavorless and did not seem of good quality. Neither of us continued to eat and the waiter took his plate full of food, I then asked for the manager. I asked him to leave the plate so the manager could see I did not eat. He also spoke spanish until he saw I was not responding in Spanish and began to speak english. I explained I was disappointed and I did not think it was fair that we pay full price when we ate less than a child would. He left and after a while came back to say he can only give us (for one meal) the cost they would charge someone who would eat "only salad". I was confused and then I could tell he wasn't listening because he said that I told him my boyfriend ate the food, I had to make it clear that he "did not eat at all" he asked the waiter if he ate, in Spanish right in front of me. As if i would lie over something so petty! I was so insulted! I told him to just bring the check and said I would never be back. We ended up paying the lunch price which is 20.75 p/ person as opposed to 29.75 p/person. Not even for 10 will ever go back. The wine was tasteless, I should have ordered grape juice, the food is not worth it and beside the waiter we had that was OK the manager was unprofessional and the staff gave no effort to communicated or make the situation better. We were both disappointed and I felt like his birthday was basically ruined. High expectations from an "Argentinian Steak House" for a big let down! I will never ever go back and I will never recommend this place! Ever

Good meats – Went for a quick dinner to take out right outside restaurant. The meat is grilled right there. I had skirt steak and my friends had ny steak and short ribs. hey speak spanish to you first and then when you tell them you speak english they try to speak it but I feel they did not understand well. All of us were unhappy with the sides( mash pot tasted powdered, the veg had too much vinegar and mustard) except for the fries and the bread. The sauces were good. I prob would go back... but just to pick up some of the meat and make my own sides at home. I am glad I did not pay the $26.00 for the meal inside because I would have been mad.
