Sunny Isles Best Mexican Food. While looking around on Sunny Isles Beach, I was craving for a flavored food, I though first pollo tropical, but then I noticed a Mexican restaurant behind the elevator in 170St and Collins Ave. The restaurant look pretty new to the area.

I was greeted within 35 seconds of my entrance, which I think is great, it made me feel welcome into the restaurant. I order chiles rellenos and my partner a molcajete. The chiles rellenos were delicious. They are poblano stuff pepper with ground beef and cheese on a flavored tomato sauce served with rice, beans and hot tortillas . . . mmh delicioso!

The molcajete is a show. The waitress served the food in a hot lava/volcano stone bowl. You got to see it. The meet and the sauce are sizzling from the kitchen and into your table. It contains chicken, steak, shrimp fajita, a big slice of grilled cheese, Mexican sausage (chorizo), onions, cactus ( nopales) and the home made souce on the center of the bowl(the bowl is hot). I think it has more but, I do not remember.

It’s accompanied with rice, beans and hot tortillas.

I’ll go to this restaurant once a week because the prices are very competitive for the area of Sunny Isles. A similar dinner for two in the local restaurants cost you a fortune. At el Sol Mexican restaurant you can eat twice for the price on one.

For those of you who are not familiar with the area, the restaurant is located on 170St. and Collins Ave. on the same parking lot as pollo tropical, behind the glass elevator/stairwell. There is also a Milan’s shopping center and across from the plaza is the new “Jade Ocean” buildings. The building that looks like Titanic.

I heard they have a good show on Saturday, so I may see you there for Dinner on Saturday.
