If you enjoy good music, DON'T COME HERE. Music is not up to par. When I speak of music, I speak of the DJ. I went on a Monday and the vibe was really...how should I say this...BORING. I went for a birthday party, and if it weren't for that party, I would of never been there.

What a blast - Great meal!. Okay, I have been to STK NYC and I have to say this one is as good if not better. The first time I came there was an air-condition problem but I just went this week and that was solved. The place is so fun and alive compared to most steakhouses. I love the music they play 80's 70's rock and some new stuff. We later danced in the lounge and people are singing along, especially to old Bon Jovi. Love it!! -We had a blast. My friend requested a song from the in house Dj and he played it pretty quickly. The food was really good both times I have been here. My favorite were the kobe sliders -wow. The server said they were the best sliders ever and she was right. I also liked the Tuna tartar and the shrimpy krispy appetizer. For our main course: We split the porterhouse for 2 special with a main lobster - the steak was a perfect medium rare with amazing flavor plus I love the stk sauce with it. We also tried the new Lobster Mac and cheese ( yes- we like lobster). Liked the sides of corn pudding and the Truffle fries - wow again. And then this choc & PB smores dessert. The service was right on - NYC style and I say ranks in the top I have had in Miami ( which we all know Miami is not a good service town. :) LOve it all and I am going back with a large group in 2 weeks to party. We also were invited to go up to PLunge after and that was nice.

Worst Birthday Dinner I Ever Attended, and it was my bday. The Miami New Times wrote an article on STK, it was titled "Style over Steak". Boy were they right! I came here for my 23rd birthday (4/29) & wanted to try a nice new restaurant out, so I chose STK. What a mistake! Please do yourself a favor, spend your money elsewhere. The music was great, the drinks while we were waiting 45 minutes for our table hit the spot. Yes, we waited 45 minutes to be sat down, WITH RESERVATIONS!

Here's what went wrong: 45 minute wait, Bad Service, Waiter dropped our bottle, Fire alarm went off, Over cooked steak.

I've had bad service before, but never on my birthday. My morale at that point was to just go home. I didn't want dessert, I didn't want anything but the check. Our bill was for 6 people, the other 3 had a separate check. Our bill included our 2nd bottle, tax & tip. The total came out to $602, roughly 100 bucks per person. Is that worth getting a terrible experience? Does that seem fair? I don't think so, but what can you do. It was MY decision to come here, & I regret it. I was expecting a big bill like this, but the experience that came along with the big bill was 100% uncalled for.

Citysearch Editorial Review. Modern and meaty, this New York City import takes over the Gansevoort's dual-level dining room with a ritzy new school chophouse vibe. Despite exhibitionist touches that include a dramatic catwalk along the back bar and second-level seating that watches over the larger scene downstairs, there are still pockets of dining intimacy under forgiving, soft yellow lighting. Steaks are front and center. From 6-ounce filet medallions to a hefty 34-ounce bone-in ribeye, the meats are sized for all appetites and topped with everything from foie gras butter to truffles. Lamb, organic chicken and raw bar specialties are available for anti-red meat heretics.
