Citysearch Editorial Review. The quest for authentic Mexican in the Gables requires overcoming first impressions. White tablecloths and fine ceramic vases with matching murals in a modern exhibition kitchen setting? Painted portraits of Mexican celebrities and historical politicos including Carlos Santana and Frida Kahlo lining the back of the bar? Smooth easy listening music piped in? The menu's the genuine article, though, with pulled pork chilorio tacos and corn with grilled chicken huarache available. International liberties are taken with Peruvian ceviche and a tuna sandwich on pressed Cuban bread, but the offerings are predominantly authentic.

Upscale and unique Mexican. When I heard that the owners of Jaguar were opening a new restaurant in Coral Gables I thought one thing "can't wait to try it". Talavera did not dissapoint. As a lover of Mexican food this place is it as far as Miami is concerned. The dishes are unique and exciting. It is often difficult to find the beloved Mole sauce, this place has three variations. The Ceviche is excellent, of course. The wine list just as good as Jaguar. Talavera is everything I love about Jaguar with a Mexican twist. I def will be going back.
