It's a globetrotter's collection, pouring faraway brews including Slovakia's Golden Pheasant, Ethiopia's Bedele, and Guatemala's Famosa. The uninitiated settle for the creature comforts of better known domestic and European beers. More beer house than bierhaus, the narrow watering hole welcomes patrons to kick back in leather banquettes or perch themselves on raised stools along the wraparound bar. The "republic" has an open immigration policy, as wine, soft drinks and international eats are also available between the beer sips.
