So-So Sushi and Tasty Thai - but not worth waiting for the slow kitchen and mediocre service!.
This restaurant might be fine for take out or delivery but definitely NOT for dining in. Even with only 3 of the 20+ tables occupied, the kitchen could not seem to get the food out. We started by ordering 3 appetizers. Two came out at about the same time. The spring rolls had a just spicy-enough dipping sauce. The third appetizer, wings, materialized almost 20 minutes later. They were smothered in a good spicy sweet sauce. It was obvious that the kitchen was having issues but overall the service was inconsistent. We ordered 2 Sake Lemonades, the waitress brought one and said "The other one is coming." Tom Ka Gai and Tom Ka Shrimp were disappointing - much too heavy on the coconut and citrus. The main courses were a disaster. The dynamite roll was bland and rather chewy. The Panang curry was not served as the menu promised. After waiting another 20 minutes for the third entree, Pineapple Shrimp Fried Rice, we decided to take it home.
While some of the tastes were good, the service and the kitchen were really disappointing - and this was on a Monday night. I shudder to think what the weekends are like. My advise - if they've got something you really like, order take out. Dining in is a recipe for indigestion!
Undiscovered Charm. OK so it is not on the best corner in the city, but when you get inside you will discover a friendly staff, great Thai food, a piano player who takes requests (gotta love him!) and a spacious interior. The menu has about everything you could ever want at a Japanese / Thai place and the tables are large and can accommodate large parties.
