In Short – The fall 2008 makeover of the landmark Fontainebleu hotel wouldn't be complete if the Vegas-inspired push didn't showcase a drop dead glamorous nightclub. This is it. With a massive 30,000 square feet at its disposal, this waterfront party spot can get away with a lavish main floor showcasing everything from live rock acts to DJs spinning the latest house and electronica. With three full-service bars scattered about, thirsty clubbers can get a SoBe feel without having to make the three-mile trek down the coast.

Nice club but not worth the hassle

by ClubLove at Citysearch

I live in Miami and I typically frequent the trendier places in Miami: Louis, Gansevoort rooftop, Florida Room(Delano), Shore Club, BanCroft, Set, W Hotel, etc. Most of these places can be a pain to get in if they are packed but if you look good and have a good looking girl with you...it should not be a problem. As for Liv, it is just a pain. Unless you know the bouncer. And they are like that because we allow them to be like that. "Please please let me in"----come on people! It's a club like any other. I have seen people who have given their credit card and still have to wait in line. That was until this professional football player or wrestler decided to tell them to screw off, walked right passed the bouncers and asked for his card back. Look people...the truth is that the crowd looks a lot better on the outside(waiting in line) than once you are inside. At least, that's what I have seen. Pretty girls outside, not so pretty inside. Where are they? They go to the VIP with the guys who spent $1500 to have some girls around them. Sad but true. Same goes for the guys according to my girlfriends. I like clubs but it's just not worth it. And that's that I have a hookup to get in for free without having to wait. But my friends always go through the same hassle. And I always see the same mass of people waiting outside for no reason bc it's half empty inside. A huge line outside and the entire second floor is empty inside. Nor would I wait in line for an hour nor have to slip the bouncer $60 on top of cover. Check Liv out once and see what I mean.

  • Pros: Nice place...Vegas like
  • Cons: Hassle

BEWARE! I GOT ROBBED IN LIV MIAMI.

by elavrov at Citysearch

IMPORTANT!!! READ!!! BEWARE THIS CLUB - I WAS ROBBED THERE!!! I 'm a tourist. I entered this club on October 23rd, 2009 on the Flo Rida new video presentation party. Prepaid (this is important) a table to get in (gave my credit card, signed pre-authorization form and later when ordered two bottles I signed for the total, my card was successfully charged for 1,5k). During our short stay ( we didn't even finish a half of a bottle and second bottle was untouched) I was abused several times by the security ( we never touched anyone, didn't scream or did anything wrong), when asked him what's going on he said we 'll have a "talk" outside, when kicking me out stole my golden chain, on the street called the police and they arrested me , I spent 12 hours in jail. He said I didn't pay the bill and I have a proof I did. I had a big golden chain on top of my clothes, this bouncer next to our table just robbed me and lied to police to get me arrested.

  • Pros: None.
  • Cons: Got robbed by the bouncer.

Worst Club Experience Ever.

by snapever at Citysearch

I paid a lot of money to see the Matisayhu concert at the VIP section of the club. I was manhandled and kicked out of the club last nught by some boneheaded security guards because they were too stupid to figure out that I did have tickets to the VIP section. Before even giving me the opportunity to speak, three security guards forecfully took my arm and put me in a neck hold. My arm and neck still hurts from their brutal treatment. I would avoid this place if you don't want to have your night ruined by some thugs dressed as security officers. To thier credit, they finally let me back in when they realized that I did nothing wrong. It's too bad that this club will be closed down as their are plenty of other people that have had bad experiences such as the one I had.

  • Pros: Great architecture
  • Cons: Boneheaded security guards.

The Details on LIV

Look Good:

If you have the VIP money to burn, the club offers six private skyboxes, complete with cozy banquettes and purse drawers to securely stash away belongings that you don't want to take out to the dance floor.

Save Money:

Unlike the lively SoBe scene where there's a happening club on every block, LIV is it in the immediate area. Come to party, but don't expect to club hop.

Know Before You Go:

Valet parking isn't cheap, running as high as $30 for an overnight rate. The adjacent Eden Roc is also $30. Smaller area hotels will charge you less, but wear comfortable shoes for the long walk over.
