A hidden gem in Miami. My girlfriend and I had one of the best dining experiences ever at Caramelo -- the best part was that it was completely unexpected and we just stumbled upon it one night. They started us off with a bruschetta-topped waffle-cut french fries, and we then had exquisite carpaccio. That was followed by perfect entrees -- a duck in sherry reduction and monster sea scallops over a spinach pesto pasta. Service was excellent; the waitress was personable but not in our faces all night. This is a hidden gem of Miami and we can't wait to go back.

If you love Mafongo, you will love Caramelo. I ate lunch there the other day and tried Mafongo for the 1st time with a skirt steak and I must declare it was awesome!!! It was great dining experience becasue I had a great meal and enjoyed it under the sun outside - gotta love living in Miami!
