From the very first time I contacted A. Renny I felt a a great sense of professionalism and friendliness. Unlike many other make up artist who I contacted; many of them seemed very hard to get a hold of and uneasy to work with. A. Renny was more than helpful and CONSTANTLY kept in touch with me up into the day of the shoot. She put a lot of time and effort to make sure she had the products I needed for the shoot and even went out of her way to get things that I specifically needed. In addition, the day of the shoot she seemed fully prepared and ready for a whole day of shooting. Never did she leave my side and was ready to retouch me even when I didn't think I needed it : ) In the end, I was very satisfied with her work. My hair looked amazing all day long and make up set perfectly ! She used some of the best products and was just a lot of fun to work with !!

Alexis just did my make-up last month for my wedding in Islamorada. I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants a make-up artist with a personal touch. She uses a full range of some of my favorite brands like Nars, Stila and Mac and even prepped my skin with really nice skincare from Dermalogica. The best part for me was that she works a lot with destination brides so she knew exactly how to make me feel calm and relaxed prior to my wedding day by giving a complimentary phone consult and regular follow-up emails. Even though I didn't get to meet her for a trial-run before since I'm from Michigan, she made me feel at ease right from our phone conversation. On the day of she felt more like a close friend or one of my bridesmaids than someone I had simply hired to do my make-up and I received nothing but compliments on my make-up all night long.

I recently stumbled onto citysearch (which by the way is notorious for some of the rude and obnoxious comments below) to see one of my favorite make-up artists listed.

First of all Alexis Renny has been working with my production company in South Miami for over 5 years, and she has always been punctual and prepared for whatever we throw at her--from zombies to glammed up super models she handles it all with polished professionalism.

Secondly, if you speak to any of her customers or facebook her for that matter, she is very well liked and received. She not only makes you feel comfortable and at home but she is a compassionate individual who from my own personal experience really takes the time to listen to your needs and get to know you.

I would highly recommend Alexis to anyone in need of top notch make-up and hair services and I would take with a grain of salt, some of the bullying and negative reviews that are posted here which were clearly written consecutively as a way to harass a small business owner instead of finding a civil way to resolve the issue at hand.

Makeup artist in Miami Alexis Renny. I am sorry but if you are a women of color, not just african american, but any women who does not have very fair skin, STAY AWAY!!. Even if your are a women of fair complexion her color choices are just not right. I think she needs to take more coarses or maybe paint faces for childerns parties. I'm sorry for being so blunt, but the truth is the truth!

Impressive work!. Please disregard the negative comments on here. for i have seen no bad work out of alexis yet. she is always where she needs to be in a timely mannor, and always works to make sure her clients are happy, and comfortable with what shes doing. she does an amazing job, and actually does have a degree from the los angeles school of make up. (probably not the proper name) but you get the hint, and has been doing makeup for many years. so the experience is there along with the qualifications. She works diligently to make everything go as smoothly as possible and is probably the best choice anyone could make for their big day, or any event. One crazy client, is taking things slightly to far. I would recommend Alexis to anyone in my family without hesitation. so please, no worries when selecting her, you wont be sorry!! :)

obviously some people are easily pleased. I read the reviews for this business before I advised my cousin to go ahead and book A. Renny. There were some bad reviews with very specific and horrifying details, but A. Renny replied that they were simply written to harass her. Based on the good reviews I gave the ok to book because I believed her claim. How wrong that was. Some of the things mentioned in some reviews are exaggerated and probably written out of frustration, but many of the complaints against A. Renny are completely valid. She tries to cater to different skin types but she doesn't do a very good job. Might be due to lack of training rather than being careless. A. Renny does have an especially difficult time with ethnic skin. She can be pleasant but is quite easily flustered and snappy when my cousin experienced some events that didn't go exactly as planned. I wouldn't say this artist is the "the worst mistake" but you could definitely do better. Her technique and her credentials could use polishing.

hire at your own risk. cheap materials, does work in shoddy apt area (not a professional studio), no proper degree. try to go through a professional agency if you can.

my makeover rocked!. Booked Lex last week for a trial-run for my sister's Quince and got my eyebrows shaped for free---THANK YOU! And ended up getting my make-up done too. Very sweet and definitely speaks Spanish :P Great make-up tips, brand-new studio and overall great service.

Best lashes!. I just hired Alexis to do some temporary false eyelash extensions on me and I was really impressed. From the minute we talked things over the phone Alexis offered me several options and was not afraid to suggest another artist for long wearing 2 month extensions. Since I just wanted the shorter wear I decided to give her a try, especially because her price was so reasonable. Well 2 hours later I came out with the fluttery thick lashes I wish I were born with. She's a perfectionist and if you can't devote 2 hours for your lashes you will get anxious but it really is worth every minute. My lashes lasted about 2 weeks and I got compliment after compliment.
