SET Night Club : Pretentious,boring and lame..
The club has a bald door guy. I believe the dude is bi-racial his color wouldn't matter if it was his huge sense of self hatred that pours from his veins.
Very few black or hispanics can make it through the door. This is not made up. Go by sit outside for an hour and watch it yourself. If you do make it in the club you will find it lame on the next level.
The only people that go to that club are new girls and guys that moved to south beach and havent found the cooler clubs.
The DJ is lame and the sound is out dated. The staff at SET act like they are at a top level club. They should change their attitudes in check.
The people that work at SET are people who couldn't get a club job at the big clubs like LIV,WALL,Florida Room or EPIC.
If you want to go have a good time at a high end club don't be fooled SET isnt a high end bar. The chicks that go there are Paris Hilton knock offs and the dudes that go there are tools.
If you want to go to a bar go to Liqour Lounge or Dewey's. They maybe local bars but the liqour is good and cheap and you wont be disrespected…
Best club on South Beach. Last weekend I took a trip to South Beach. I have been several times but since I live in Manhattan NY I don't get to visit as much as I would like to. Every time my friends and I go we always go to SET nightclub on Lincoln Road. The other "good" clubs on South Beach are all young hip hop crowds that let Everyone in! You don't feel special at a club where all they care about is filling it. At SET to door is very difficult but well worth it. There is always a sexy sophisticated crowd and a guaranteed great time!!…

That bald headed dooche bag (spelled incorrectly on purpose) has been monitoring the door for years turning down as many people as possible. I've seen more people get turned away from this club
than those going in. We tried to get in SET this past Sat night (November 28, 2009) and he was motioning to his "protege" how to handle each client trying to get passed the rope. Baldy allowed groups of people he KNEW in for free. There was no one else in line when we walked up. Then the "protege" approached us and said they are only offering bottle service. So I inquired.....he said minimum of TWO bottles and he could not give me a price on it anyway. I was with my husband (party of 2). There is no way we could finish off 2 bottles of liqour and they did not want us to. Obviously they did not want us in there. However, we watched several groups of girls exit the club and they were dog ugly---googly eyed.
I guess that is the preferred clientele baldy is interested in attracting to SET. If that is the case, "TAXI!!"…
Do not waste your time!.
Nicely decorated little club on Lincoln rd, started out strong in the old spot of club State next to what used to be the uniquely eternal Rumi.
Set quickly captured State and Rumi's chic clientele, but have started deviating way too far from the elitist position into a run of the mill tourist trap with major attitude at the entrance and moody door charge policy. The music is not that special anymore and good looking people have become far and in between.
Have not seen a place change so quickly from hosting a large group of good looking folk to being a dump for South Beach rejects.
Skip it by all means!!!…
