Tips for La Goulue

Expectations completely exceeded!!. I have been a miami resident for quite some time and Bal Harbour Shops is one of my main destinations.

I have seen restaurants open and close in the current location today of La Goulue and have tried all of them!

From what I hear, there were new owners that came in La Goulue, completely revamped the menu, the quality of the food, and the decor!! EVERYTHING WAS SUBLIME FROM BEGINNING TO END!

Aboslutely one of the best french food experiences Ive had in a long time! The Famous Cheese souffle was to die for! We also had the smoked duck breast salad (UNBELIEVABLE!) and my husband had the NY prime whcih was cooked exactly as ordered and melted like butter with each bite! Came w French Fries to which were of course, wonderful!

The new decor is fresh, light, and just as joy to be in.

IT IS A MUST GO TO DESTINATION FOR LOCALS AND TOURISTS!!

ENJOY!!!

Horrible. This place has okay food...or maybe just desserts. The kitchen is disguisting, the managment is horrible, and they are unfair to their employees. The managers won't let anyone miss work even if they are throwing up sick, they steal people's money, they don't pay their employees (steal money from them) and they only care about getting their money. I used to work there and they have such a high turnaround because their management.

Best New Restaurant in Miami. My best friend and I had a phenomenal meal at La Goulue this past weekend. Even though it was a chilly evening, we decided to sit outside - the heaters provided a cozy atmosphere and our nice bottle of red wine presented beautifully by the knowledgable waitstaff made us warm as well. We shared the creamy, sinful and luxorious lobster bisque and the calamari which was tender and garlicy. We also had a generous serving of the Chef's famous black truffle lobster risotto. The risotto was TO DIE FOR and left us wanting more and more and more....Our entrees were perfect in their simplicity and flavor. The chicken with truffled polenta was rustic and wholesome and the salmon with asparagus was flavorful and cooked to perfection. To end our meal we had the most lovely apple tart - thin and sweet, yet crispy and mellow with homemade vanilla ice cream. Overall our experience at this hip, fun, and beautiful french bistro was only number one of MANY visits to come. PS - Don't even think of passing up the handcut french fries - truely the best either of us have EVER had.

horrible service, horrible food. first off, there was no method to the madness for seating people. people were crowded at front -- there was no line, no list... nothing. you just tell 1 of 2 hostesses how many people were in your party and then try to mill around so they remember you. once you finally manage to get seated, the service was horrid. it was slow and our server did not even check on us to see if we wanted water. and when we ordered, he didn't ask if we wanted wine. when we asked for the wine menu, he was surprised. it was so bad that we saw other people leaving the table. our server also mumbled a lot and would complain to us that he was not the cook! the food did not redeem this sorry place. the foie gras was not good. the onion tart (pizza) was cold. the lobster bisque was cold. the only redeeming food item was the calamari -- but it was not good enough for me to recommend this place. what bothers me the most is when i was eating my bisque, our server was rushing me because "the food was coming." well.... the food came about 45 minutes later!!!!

Fine French dining meets the equally swanky shoppers at the fashionable Bal Harbour outdoor mall.. In Short
Why is everybody eating outside? La Goulue's interiors feature rich wood furnishings and a glass paneled exhibition kitchen, yet most of its 220 seats are in an outdoor cafe setting under the protective shelter of the Bal Harbour roof. Like many of the mall's tony boutiques, patrons apparently like to be on display too. The lunch menu offers classic fare like escargot appetizers and croque monsieur sandwiches while dinner offers heartier steaks and seafood dishes.

Finally!. Something good to have in Bal Harbor, great concept, the food was superb and the presentation, up to our expectations. After so long missing a good restaurant with a good chef and friendly staff in our area. Kudos to the wne guy, attentive without being fussy.

Loved the escargot and the breads!
