Looks can be deceiving. Behind the facade of its modest strip-mall setting in the West Kendall suburbs, this trattoria offers sleek modern furnishings and one of the largest television projection screens in town. It also goes beyond the exterior promise of fresh pastas and a brick oven spewing pizzas with Mexican staples such as beef tacos and chicken quesadillas joining Italian faves lasagna and lobster ravioli on the menu. Those craving eclectic thin crust pizzas are in luck with off-the-beaten path toppings including shrimp and Chicken Parmigiana.

- The $4.50 lunch special of two pizza slices and a soda is available on weekdays until 5pm.
- Where to Sit:
- Don't bother with the outdoor tables, since the shopping center parking lot view of Tamiami Trail isn't very inspiring. Go for one of the tables in the back with plush booth seating, up against the projection screen.
- What to Drink:
- Sidestep the soft drinks or the cans of Red Bull. Mango juice is the house specialty.

GREAT ITALIAN PLACE IN WEST KENDALL!!!

I live near Nonna Maria. I have been eating at this trattoria for years!
I am acquaintances with the owner who is a young italian man. He has been working on his small business and I have watched it grow.
I am not a big fan of the big screen TV-but the food is great! I would like to ask the owner if he brought any recipes from Italy.
I have brought 2 groups of friends there and my mom. I just ordered! Delivery!!! Hello!!!!! It has outdoor tables to enjoy S. Florida and they offer espresso for apres your meal !! An excellent tiramisu! Pastas galore! Excellent!!!!!
I am waiting for my Nonna Maria pizza: prosciutto, blk olives and sausage.
two diet cokes & 6 rolls of garlic bread! Beats dominos, Pappa Jphns and ALL the BIG pizza over-commercialized guys out there!!

Nothing special

I ordered take out, but did not get the pizza that some are raving about...somehow, I doubt it is anything special. Anyway, I ordered an onion soup, chicken soup, and two prociutto sandwiches. The onion soup was great, but the chicken soup was terrible. The prociutto sandwiches were edible, but the ham was sliced waaay too thick. It was like eating a beef jerky sandwich. I don't see myself returning since I know of many places with excellent pizza.. not to mention, I make a pretty mean pizza myself. =)

I was screeming for good Italian food in MIAMI, until i found NONNA MARIA!, this place not only has the best pizza in town but also the best Italian food!. Great services and affordable prices!

This is my first message ever, and I just have to share my awesome exprience with Nonna Maria. I had birthday party catered by Nonna Maria, and it was fantastic. The food was great - loved by both kids and adults. It was fresh and had lots of flavor. Many of people came up to me and said it was the best pizza they ever had. We also ordered chicken wings and baked ziti with meat sause, which were both outstanding. The food was delivered on time - at EXACTLY the time I requested. There was tons of food provided for the price. And customer service was also wonderful. I highly recommend using Nonna Maria for your next party! Also, I order from them all the time at home, and all thier dishes are great!

- Cons: Order take-out because the food is totally worth it!
