Good food on Lincoln Rd. Had very positive experience. The pastas were perfect. Service was good. Good wine selection. Will return.
Terrible Experience.
So, we went there on Friday night and it was miserable. The waiter was in a huge hurry, never read us the specials, never offered us cheese for our pasta entrees and seemed to care little about the food or about providing us with any personalized attention. He was the polar opposite of professional waiters such as those at Babbo, Il Mulino or Grazie here in Miami. One of our pasta dishes was tasteless and the other one featured stuck-together clumps of beyond-al-dente undercooked pasta.
When we showed the manager the clumped-together pasta, he said he was going to show it to the chef. We never again heard from the manager. He disappeared completely. A manager for any high-end restaurant anywhere would have returned with a complimentary round of drinks. Twenty minutes later, we called the manager to the table and asked him why he disappeared. He didn?t have an answer other than, ?I?m sorry?. Prefacing our comments with, ?We don?t want you to give us anything?, we proceeded to tell him all that was wrong with the evening. He stood there looking like he was biting his tongue to not tell us off. All three of us agreed afterward that he looked angry and non-service-oriented.
Then, to cap it all off, the check arrived with a forced 19% (NINETEEN PERCENT!) tip. Of course you?re going to attract mediocrity with such a high built-in tip; the staff have no incentive to provide service or learn anything about the food. And the hiring managers have no incentive to hire professional staff. I?m not sure we?ve ever seen a high-end restaurant with such a high built-in tip. Fitting with all other aspects of the night, the built-in tip indicated that Quattro has been reduced to a fashion restaurant resting lazily on its nice decor and guaranteed tourist customers.
BEST MARTINI! PHENOMENAL DRINK!. When I went to Quattro's on Lincoln Road I ordered the first drink on the menu because it sounded good. It's name is the Ginger Lychee Martini made by ALCHEMY VODKA. IT WAS AMAZING! I ordered them all night long. MAKE SURE TO ORDER THE GINGER LYCHEE MARTINI! You'll be missing out if you don't. The truffle cheese ravioli is also incredible and great addition with the martini. One of the best Italian Restaurants in Miami and on the beach.
Was great when just opened but now barely average. Quattro has many things going for it, its very trendy, nice ambiance and decent service but for the prices they charge the food had better be great. This however, is not the case anymore. I dined there when they first opened and the one thing that I so fondly remember was their special extra virgin olive oil. The was vibrant and grassy with a flavor that made me think of the Italian south with sea air & sunshine. In fact, it was so good I was going to buy a $24.00 small bottle. What I got this time was VERY different the only conclusion was that they were filling up the bottles with some cut rate brand because this time all the lovely flavors were gone and it was just flat. Since I brought a bottle of special wine, primarily because their wine list is a ripoff (no bottle under $60.00) While the corkage fee of $35.00 is not much better. I brought a sample of one my favorite extra virgin oils to compare. I figured for $24 a bottle it better be worth it. This is how I determined they must be using some generic bulk olive oils in their bottles. The service is adequate, but the dining room was just sweltering I suppose since they leave the front doors open or have it adjusted wrong. Everyone was perspiring! The food was nicely prepared and fairly good, but for what they charge I really expect to be WOWED. This did not happen. I suspect that they don't care too much because on South Beach there is a fresh crop of tourists to be clipped every week.
BEST FOOD, REFINED ENVIROMENT, A LOCAL TREASURE IN THE MIDDLE OF LINCOLN ROAD..
I live in Miami Beach sporadicaly since 1987.
we see restaurants come & go.
Quattro...
First at all, to open such a place in such touristy place & have the convocatory of 90% locals is a great success.
The food is amazing, the decorations & enviroment facsinating, Jennyifer at the front is super accomodating, & most of the waitters very good.
Everytime I go there I feel at home.
They are undowbtly succesfull, nevertheless give you that Italian family corteous treatment.
I have the oportunity to dine other places, but when calling for a reservation, I get gravitated to call Quattro.
keep it up guys!!!
Gustavo.
overrated in lincoln road..
service too slow for a Sunday evening; overpriced- the food was tasty but not anything out of this world.
waiters oblivious to table needs; it took too long for waiter to return with dinner/dessert menu, bills, etc.
