Tips for Genie Pool

STAY AWAY FROM GENIE POOLS! Wish I would have read the other reviews before contracting them. They are still not finished with the job of simply changing tiles and diamond brite, something that could have been done in less than a week is going on a month. The owner, general contractor and sales people are all irresponsible. They do not answer calls. They send a person to work for a couple hours then disappear for a week. Terrible work ethic, do not use them!

This is not a company, this is a nightmare. Do not do business with these people. Get a company with good reviews, Still do not understand why these people behave the way they did as a company. Lack of communication, supervision, professionalism, etc, etc, etc..The worst part is that you pay in advance. So they can do with you whatever they want.

Wonderful Pool amazing work ethic. You guys did a great job to say the least! There’s not one thing about you and your company that I was not happy with, from the beginning to the end. You were very helpful and knowledgeable about your product and designs, with quality always being your utmost importance. From the frame of the pool tp the equipment, you supplied a good product. You also gave a realistic end date and blew it out of the water – 42 days from initial hole to swimming!

Your company’s experience is very obvious in the quality and final product. Gabe was on scene at every step of construction and made sure everything went smoothly. If any concerns came about, he was a phone call away and would respond immediately.

All you hear are horror stories about pool installations and the wait and problems. My experience with your company is the total opposite; nothing but good things to say.

New pool and Spa. LOVE IT. I would like to take the time to acknowledge the tremendous job your company did during the construction of my swimming pool.

I have been around the construction and service industry all of my life and I must commend your company on its true professionalism and its commitment to customer satisfaction. First of all, I don’t believe that I ever seen a project of this magnitude go as smoothly as the construction and completion of my pool. Someone whom may be reading this letter, may think it was written just as advertising for your company. I want to assure them this certainly isn’t the case! Your company has demonstrated to me that you are true professionals.

My family wanted to take this moment to thank your entire team, your sales person Rick, who did a tremendous job representing your company, and all the various subcontractors who including Eloy your paver person, your excavators and your electricians who all went above and beyond in making us feel very comfortable with the process.

Congratulations on a job well done! Please feel free to use us as a references if needed. All the best to the Genie Pools team.

Nightmare. Dont even think of calling these people I am still living in nightmare - also these pools they have shown on google on not their pools - they are a fake! My STORY: If I was looking for a new pool again, I would not even request a quote from these people, let alone consider using them. From the moment we signed the contract, our experience with Genie Pools went downhill really fast. The absolute lack of supervision by the construction manager resulted in many issues both during and after the construction. Describing all of them would require a book, so here are just a few of the bigger headaches. About 2 months after the pool was finished it started losing 3 inches of water a day. Genie Pools had their plumber fix the problem and told us that the original work was so bad that it was against code and it should have never passed inspection. I presume that statement was meant to put the blame on the inspector, but whether the inspector should have caught the problem does not change the fact that it was a result of bad quality work and no supervision by Genie Pools. Also, they did such a horrible job compacting the backfill that they had to come back every other month for almost the entire first year after completion because the pavers were sinking in around the pool. Again, had the job been properly supervised, this should and would not have been an issue. Genie Pools outsources their construction work because they do not have their own crew, but that should require more supervision and not less. After the Diamond Brite was put on, my entire back yard was blue from the residual trash the work crew poured out and it even overflowed to my neighbor’s lawn. The construction manager was so lazy that it took me many phone calls to convince him to come out just to take a look. On the phone he said that some blue is inevitable. Once he came out he said: “yes, this is really bad, I would not accept this at my house either.” Again, I guess he did not realize that it was his company that created the mess and his lack of supervision that allowed it to happen. As far as phone calls are concerned, the construction manager is screening his phone and does not return voicemails. As a result, the only way to get a hold of him is to call from a different phone line every time. It is very childish and clearly a sign of being lazy and unprofessional. Probably the most significant problem we had with Genie Pools is that they committed false advertising and the construction manager even acknowledged it in a signed letter on company letterhead. The promotional materials provided to us when Genie Pools was trying to persuade us to choose them over the competition clearly said that they provide a 3 year warranty on all equipment. However, the official contract indicated that each piece of equipment is warranted pursuant to the warranty provided by the equipment’s manufacturer. Since I did read the contract, I was aware of that clause, but neither the manufacturers’ warranties nor any other documentation on the actual warranty periods were provided to us at any time and we had no reason to assume that they were different from the advertised 3 years. When our pool pump timer broke 18 months after the completion date, they refused to change it claiming it only had a 1 year warranty, although they were unable to provide us with any documentation on that warranty. I referred back to the promotional material, which promised 3 years on all equipment. In the above mentioned letter, the construction manager did not deny the contents of the promotional material, but said that the contract supersedes it. Effectively, he confirmed that the company committed false advertising and was not willing to honor the 3 year advertised warranty. That resulted in this negative review and a complaint at the Better Business Bureau adding to their 5 other complaints in the past 12 months by other very unsatisfied customers.

What a Joke!. Genie Pools - what a joke! Run people Run !

We have been treated horribly by this company and regret ever doing business with them.

They told us it would take less than 3 months to build a pool and it took 7. They first failed to get a dig permit causing initial delays and then they never showed up on the start date they scheduled with us. On the days they did show up for work they were always late. They drove a dozer right into our block wall and damaged the side of our home which they refused to pay for. We had our homebuilder make the repairs to our stucco and siding and when they tried to contact them to bill them they lied and said they never heard of us. We failed several of our inspections because they forgot to submit a soil report to the city causing enormous delays to our installation. They were going to charge us almost $500 for the soils reports they needed to obtain due to their lack of planning. At the time they offered to pay the costs of these reports because they knew they screwed up and it was their fault for the delays however they screwed us later by almost suing us for the cost of the soils report. We were told by our salesman that one light would be enough for our pool and we would not need to add more at the time we signed the contract - Our pool is now 70% dark at nightl. They installed a filter on our pool which is only big enough to support a small pool or spa. (as told by several pool maintenance and repair men) So our ONE filter is doing the job of 4 filters and must be cleaned weekly. Not the easy maintenance as promised in their sales pitch. We also had to hire a leak detection company to find a leak in our pool because we noticed our water levels dropping rapidly. The leak was on one of the return lines located under the pool decking. For unknown reasons they wire tied all the pipes together putting stress on the plumbing. They said in all their years of repairing pools they have neer seen this done. The total cost of the repair cost us $1600. They told us the leak was the installers fault due to inproper installation. I contacted them and explained the situation to them and went as far as even having them speak with my repair man however they refused to accept responsibility for the cracked pipes. Our experience with this company has been a complete nightmare.

VERY Unhappy !!!!
