Clarke's

A bar & grill inspired by the cultures of Miami, Dublin and New York

  • Irish & American cuisine
  • Nightly dinner specials
  • Bar menu

A neighborhood bar and grill with Irish pub flair, buzzing with conversation and laughter, Clarke's is a most welcome vacation from the typical South Beach scene. You don't have to be famous to get the star treatment, since Clarke's considers each and every customer important in his or her own right. Pair the enticing selections, prepared daily from scratch and ranging from traditional pub fare to contemporary dishes, with a pint of Guinness or a bottle of wine from the comprehensive and well-priced wine list. The exceptional food and drink quality is well met by the relaxed and friendly yet highly efficient service. With dark woods and brick walls, Clarke's delivers a collective vibe of New York, Dublin and Miami. For local diners looking for a comfortable place to gather, it is the gold underneath the typical South Beach glitz.

Editorial Review for Clarke's – by Holly Hickman

In Short
This pub-style bar and grill looks just the way you'd expect: a glossy bar, dark tables and the warm gleam of suspended light fixtures. This could be Boston in the summer, or if you squint, Dublin. Basic draught choices include Guinness, Bass, Harp and--Miller Lite. But there's a wide selection of bottled beers and wines. The real draw is food ranging from fish-and-chips to pork chops, braised cabbage and Parmesan truffle fries.

Insider Tips

What to Drink

If the beers don't work for you, look to the wine list: there are 100 bottles, with more than a dozen offered by the glass.

The Extras

The restaurant is about a block away from the water, so take a lovely post-pub stroll down to Government Cut.

When to Go

Brunch is served on Sundays until 4pm. Beyond brunch drink specials like $5 Mimosas and Bloody Marys, traditional Irish breakfast specials as well as stateside staples like pancakes and omelets are served.

My wife & I were visiting friends in the Miami area and found Clarke's on Citysearch. Clarke's was a welcome change from all the trendy(no thank you) locations popping up in Miami since our last visit. Good food, good beer, good service and a very nice neighborhood pub atmosphere. It reminded me of the good old days when I used to go out more(except Clarke's is nice then those places). Highly recommended.

Pros: Food, Beer, Ambiance, Service

Clarke's is a rare gem, located in the South of Fifth district in South Beach. I have been there several times, and I was always pleased with the food. It's a great place to watch a game at the bar, or to have a casual dinner. The owner Laura, is very service oriented, and knows how to run a place. Everything is good, and I have tried just about everything on the menu. Definitely try Clake's at least once. You will not be disappointed.

Pros: Great food, good service

Cons: Can be crowded on weekend, and I don't think they take reservations

The cozy-pub-in-the-big-city idea might be a bit played out, but the fare here exceeds stereotype.  See the full editorial review.
