This Brazilian bar and restaurant takes its name from a Rio tradition of going into poorer neighborhoods to enjoy how the other half lives (or parties). Though Favela is nothing like a Rio shanty, it has a dark, candlelit ambience that gives off an earthy feel. After dinner, owner and DJ Roberto Costa spins everything from salsa-tinged beats to Arabic house and turns the place into a jumping dance club.
