Editorial Review for Prime One Twelve – by Rick Munarriz
In Short
Add hip, lively clientele and art deco furniture to the tired business-driven upscale steakhouse concept and you have Prime One Twelve. The modern twist finds polished patrons slicing into their dry-aged steaks in red-bricked dining rooms; washing it all down with chilled wines from the spacious cellar that houses 900 different varieties. Prime One Twelve is a professional athlete hotspot so mind the crowds--and starry-eyed guests--on major sporting event nights.

Insider Tips
Save MoneyValet parking will run you $15 over the weekend but will set you back just $10 on Monday through Thursday.
The ExtrasIf you have to wait for your table, you won't mind grabbing an acrylic-padded stool at the bar. Yes, the cocktails are pricey but your inner carnivore will be pleased with the complimentary bacon strips served in lieu of peanuts or pretzels.

So we got a reservation through a "friend" of a "friend" on Monday night, and sat down immediately! So far so good. The menu was not as expansive as I though it would be, and the sides were not that appealing, and were too plentiful for 3 people. They should serve smaller portions so you can actually finish the sides. The mac and cheese tasted rather garlicy , too strong for me. When a "famous" rap music producer came in, my daughter turned to look, then said she wasn't sure the person was who she thought it was. I told her to Google him and get the picture, then she would know. Well, I guess the "celebrity police" otherwise known as the hostess overheard me saying to my daughter, " did you get the picture" and she stormed over and said NO PICTURES! I tried to get a word in to say we were googling, not taking pictures, but she kept repeating herself, "We don't allow pictures...You can't take pictures...Its rude etc..." Well my Bronx almost came out, but I tried to be the better person and said "Dont worry we aren't taking pictures." I think the restaurant is overpriced and I've had food that tasted just as good at local restaurants. A lot of hype for nothing, and yes there were also empty tables that night, so whats with the no available seating??Is it to keep up the image of chicness? Not my 1st choice next time I'm in South Beach.
Pros: quality of the steak was good
Cons: staff has klittle to no customer service skills; not friendly or smiling

Rude hostess, never have table for 2 persons even when calling ahead of time. They think they are the only steakhouse in town. Iam a concierge on south beach and I get negative feedback 70 percent of the time from guest I send there. Bottom line I had a bad experience whenever I have rude guest I send them there have fun dont be rude to hotel staff or you might just find yourself eating at overpriced prime 112, seatting on top of eachother
