Editorial Review for Cacao Restaurant – by Rick Munarriz

The Scene
This upscale restaurant's chic decor features red upholstered chairs and white-clothed tables in a spacious dining room designed around a glass-enclosed wine room. The stylish clientele nosh on exotic Latin American appetizers, such as reina pepiada--cool guacamole and chicken salad wedged in a tower of warm corn chips. Entrees include suckling pig with cinnamon-spiced plantain puree and filet mignon with olive oil-based chimichurri sauce. Wrap up the meal with a delicate chocolate souffle.

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

The staff will be more than happy to recommend a fantastic wine to go with your meal and their recommendations are good or you can peruse their extensive list. We started with the fish ceviche appetizer which was fantastically good. I had the Pan Seared Salmon Fillet. It was perfect. My friend had the Braised veal cheeks: fall-apart tender and not oversauced. The meals couldn't have been more perfect.

Pros: Consistently good, gourmet food

Cons: Can get to be a bit on the pricey side

Have enjoyed many dinners at CACAO's -the wild boar is a must, and the veal is superb! The tiradito trio to begin with is delicious - and for wines - try their South African selections - Great ambiance and elegant decor - great place to enjoy dinner with a group of friends-
