In Short – The cozy 75-seat dining area is dominated by warm tones of brick red and mustard yellow. Low lighting is provided by wall sconces and flickering candles on the dark-wood tables. An exhibition kitchen and bar with flat-screen television add visual interest. A typical meal might include the grilled-shrimp tamale appetizer served with fava beans and roasted poblano chilies and continue with crispy skin yellowtail snapper served with sweet-potato and wild-mushroom risotto and arugula.
Craft food in a wonderful setting

We ate there during our Christmas-New Years vacation to Miami Beach. My wife has celiac (gluten intolerance) and our server made sure her selections were gluten-free. We could hear him making the order in the open kitchen and were re-assured. Meal was wonderful and extremely flavorful. Great service, specials on wine and an incredible meal for us.
- Pros: Service, food
- Cons: Low lighting - not a big deal
Best In Miami
by Anthony71
Flew into Miami from New York and stayed at the Gansvoort (nice property, but they need to get their act together)- to have a fun vacation with my fiance and we love food. I had done my homework and so did she- we ate at all the best City Search, Zagat & friend rated restaurants and Talula took the best overall restaurant award for the 5 day trip. To keep it simple- The food was the best part- the service- excellent- my server has been at Talula for 5 years! he calls it home and the ambiance comfortable and "downtown NY ish"- right up our alley. A place I will highly recommend for the night that you don't need the "Sobe Scene". We found the Sobe Scene and the hype most of the restaurants down there are known for- most notably Prime 112- get real with this place- why we had to wait 30 minutes is just unclear still as tables were open- the worst overall. Sardinia-good- but was expected to get blown away form all the hype- also a bit out of the way, Casa Tua- good food, but I am a big guy and left hungary and $400.00 poorer. Nobu- great food- great scene-
- Pros: The only place like it in South Beach- original and for foodies
- Cons: can't think of any
Amazing Service! Ask for Kevin...
by mltt16
Talula was excellent! My boyfriend and I dined here after we requested a "quiet, American restaurant" from our hotel Concierge. The meal was delicious (we both had steak), the wine was excellent (a wonderful reccomendation from our server) and the dessert (chocolate & banana bread pudding) and after-dinner drinks were phenomenal. The most outstanding part of our evening was the service we received; Kevin was the best server either of us has ever encountered. We will be returning to Talula on our next trip to South Beach!
- Pros: Ambience, Service, Food
- Cons: None!
