Editorial Review for Dan Marino Town Tavern – by Rick Munarriz

In Short
Though television monitors quietly broadcast sporting events and football paraphernalia abounds, this is no ordinary sports bar, even beyond the cute football-shaped rolls. Comfy elevated booths and classy modern tables face an open kitchen. The well-rounded menu features everything from crab cakes to beef tips. Save room for the signature Almond Basket, a far tastier treat than the name implies with fresh seasonal fruits and a berry sorbet served inside crunchy almond brittle.

Insider Tips

Where to Sit

The best seats in the house are the roomy leather-padded booths inside. Smokers are relegated to the outdoor seating on cafe-lined Sunset Drive.

When to Go

Fridays are festive with live music and drink specials in the outdoor bar area. However, weekend nights are also the most crowded.

Save Money

Marino's won't validate the mall's garage parking but the Barnes & Noble next door will, no purchase necessary.

I was so excited to go to Dan Marinos restaurant and was disappointed! The actual service was good, but the food was horrible. My husband received his so called 9ounce steak in a french fries plate and the steak looked like an appetizer. The bread we recieved was cold. The spinach dip looked like a whole bunch of grass thrown on a plate. We asked for a cheese dip for our nacho chips that came with the spinach dip and they took like 3 slices of cheddar cheese and microwaved them. I ordered the chicken gordon bleu...wow...horrible. And the garlic mash potatoes, might as well given me the potatoes for me to mash. I was so looking forward to eating here and left so disappointed. I wanted a desert, but after all that, i was afraid to order any. The only thing that looked good, which was what the people next to us ordered, was the burger. Maybe this should just be a burger place!

Pros: The service was nice.

Cons: The food was bad.
