Miami's Best Saunas/Steam Riim.
I would like to say that I just went to Nirvana Spa with my girlfriends and we had a great time.
I had been recommended to this place by my uncle and he was right, the all-cedar sauna is AMAZING. I see that they are remodeling and it's looking fresh. What's even better was that i was prepared to spend $28for a day visit but they showed me the fall special they had for $20.. nice surprise. Overall, its a great place and good people. I recommend this place to anyone anyday
Grounding at Nirvana in Miami Beach. Wow. I should have written this review 3 years ago when I discovered Nirvana Spa at HoJo with a group of "Blooming Roses" that I took there for a weekend retreat! I have since visited both Hotel and Spa frequently since then, and have so much rave about it. I have also been self discovering and found that it was genius to locate the spa in the basement area of the hotel, I have no tecqnical proof that the place is grounded, although the way that I feel when I am there is full proof. I have noticed lately in the last few weeks that there are rrenovations going on there. Yeah. that is fine, although I believe that the spa is perfect! I am personally endorsing the experience to the GOOD. I also notice that the price has changed. That is also ok. I will, however; mention that it is more important to renovate the service of staff, more so than the environment. The staff seem sometimes disconnected to what a customer is truly there for. I realize that for alot of workers, times may seem hard right now, although the "Attitude of Gratitude" is a must for work hours at such a great spa. Lack and Limitation, attitudes can ruin the bottom line purpose of relaxation and rejuvenation that a customer comes for. Relax and Release is so important at such a place as the Fantastic "Nirvana Spa" offers. I would like to take the opportunity to thank all that came up with the concept. I truly love the place! Again, customer service for Local and out of Towners is the priority. Communication is key. Please do not change it so much. The difference in price is fine, the difference in service is not. Also, cleaning is key. I noticed that the staff either cannot or will not speak, Miami has a great Salsa/American flavor; its great; although is needed in the spa there. We all need a place like Nirvana to rejuvenate, renew and relax. Thank God for the place. I have also visited Canyon Ranch's Spa; and found that the feeling is not as close to the source of power at all. Nirvana Spa Rocks!
Nirvana Spa Chases away Loyal Clients....
Taking Bad business practices to just plain stupid, Local Russian Bath House "Nirvana Spa" Chasing away loyal local clients in the down season...
The price of the average Gym/Spa membership monthly in Miami Beach is 50.00, LESS then it would cost to visit Nirvana Spa two times in a month, at $30 a visit. Yet some long time spa clients visit Nirvana once a week or more!
Leading to a "off the books' hierarchy of guests whom receive various discounted rates ranging from $10 to $20 a visit. This Discount has always extended to guest brought in by a Loyal Client, especially if Client is paying for the guests. This has encouraged Loyal "Discounted Clients" to invite guest and bring new clients to Nirvana Spa. This also is a win/won for Nirvana because by paying for additional guest, the discounted member is still spending an average of $30 per visit!
As of recent; however, Nirvana spa has began charging there loyal clients Full Price for any guest brought for a visit, and not telling them until leaving the spa and it is time to pay!!
I complained about this and was told, by an employee "Well, times are tough around here..."
Given the current financial climate, and the fact that it is "Slow season" in Miami Beach, dosn't it make more sense to offer Loyal clients further seasonal discounts, and incentives to bring new clients to a Business? In a time where People are spending less, and Gyms and Spas are lowering their prices accordingly, and offering NEW GUEST free Weeks, or in some cases FREE MONTHS, Is it wise to chase loyal local clients away? At one time when "The Castle" was closed, and before the Standard spa, and SPA at Canyon Ranch, residents of Miami Beach had no choice but pay the High Rates of Nirvana Spa; however, now with several other Bath Houses on Miami Beach, and with High End Gyms equipped with Steam and Sauna.... Nirvana Spa starts too look a little "less kept" and "Not-so-Clean" and more DIRTY and UN-Friendly to Locals.
This is the most horrible, dirty place i have ever been to. I cannot even refer to it as a spa because it is not!
I had a horrible experience. The staff was rude and barely spoke english. The manager was horrible when i tried to file a complaint. The owener which was my last resort to understanding why this place is even open was proof as to why Nirvana Spa is such a dump!
Beware of this place people! Do not go there! Its is awful from all aspects. Place looks like it was built in the 50's!
There are so many new spas in SOBE that cost the same or less and cannot even compare to that dump!
Aromatherapy steam treatments, hydrotherapy, facials, massage, yoga and gym facilities in the 1950s-themed Dezerland Hotel..
Located on the lower floor of the Dezerland Hotel, the large lobby is dark and moist; oak-leaf branches hang overhead, letting off a pleasant aroma that's featured in oak-leaf treatments. Prompt and professional staff lead guests on a tour of the maze of hallways that lead to treatment rooms, spa facilities and quiet rooms. Since the spa is attached, but not inside the hotel, guests are likely to be area residents as well as out-of-towners.
Don't go. This is a co-ed spa which is a big turn off. Fat hairy men are not my idea of a relaxing day at the spa. The steam room was spooky because men are staring at you through the steam. There is no noise ordinance so people hold loud conversations at inappropiate times. There was hair in the shower floors. It had an awful scent that smelled moldy/musty like wet body odor. It never felt or looked clean. There was too much activity. The massage was too hard and didn't seem like they were giving you the length of time you paid for. It was not AT ALL how I imagined it to be and I only followed through with the services because I had a gift certificate. I would not recommend this spa. Oh and did I mention how overpriced it is? By the time I checked out my bill was $300! Good God! Avoid at all costs.
