Aventura >Original Pancake House
Good food, HORRIBLE service!!. I never went into this place but decided to try it yesterday. What a mistake! The waitress kept trying to sell me items I did not ask for or want! She took my order as well as my husbands'. She asked him what type of potato he wanted-he answered hash browns. When the food started coming out, she mentioned twice that the hash browns were on the way. We waited...and waited....we were half done with our meal and I asked her, "um, the hash browns?" she didn't apologize at all, went to go grab them and came back and said, "I thought you were asking about corned beef hash". What?! How does that even make sense? How about just admitting you made a mistake? I could appreciate and respect making a mistake. Oh and prior to that, I had a small serving of ketchup on the side of my corned beef hash and my husband asked her for ketchup for his eggs...to which she pointed to MY ketchup. I still don't get it-is this place hiring the mentally challenged? Will never return here! Horrible, frustrating experience and I'm just turned off by the place. The food was good but not god enough to deal with that stupidity! I'll just go to Denny's, thanks.
Great pancake House, More Original..than the original.. I love everything and everybody.
Made-to-order breakfasts---including over a dozen unique flapjacks---stack the odds in this restaurant's favor..
Founded in Oregon circa 1953, this simply-furnished spot owes its success to its creative menu and fresh ingredients. Batters are made on the premises; a special "sourdough starter" keeps treats from tasting overly sweet. Patrons choose from eggs, waffles, crepes and oven-baked omelets, as well as signature plates like blueberry pancakes (served with or without compote), giant cinnamon-glazed apple pancakes, thin and chewy "49-ers" and the air-filled, lemon-and-sugar-topped "Dutch Baby."
