What Snobs.. The front desk lady will treat you cold. I did not get a very welcoming feeling. Seems you have to be a Peruvian regular for the staff to pay any mind, (found this out as regulars came in.) which I find borderline insulting. It took a whole hour for them to make my special fried rice with low mein unacceptable timing. The pricing was over your regular chinese though the quality was superior. The lo mein noodles looked like spaghetti, not thick enough. The only reason why I'm not giving this place and "1" was because of cleanliness and food quality, service was horrible.

Excellent Peruvian/Chinese. Unlike the writer below, I may not be wordly, but I have traveled and eaten at some pretty ritzy restaurants around the world. The "Chifa" restaurant in Kendall is a pretty darn good neighborhood restaurant. Portions are more than acceptable, well priced and the food is absolutely delicious. My favorite is "chicharron de pollo" a house specialty and their special fried "Chaufa" rice. I am not sure what the previous writer experienced while there, but I do believe the service he received speaks more of his personality and self handling (while there and how he treated people) than the service and the quality/portions of the food. The "decor" is not great but I have been going there for years. I grew up in Pinecrest a neighborhood right down the street, and then move to Las Olas in Ft. Lauderdale, and frequently traveled 45 minutes to an hour to indulge. I am now back in Miami, and go there quite a few times a month. The food is definately good. My mate is an African American man, we took his family out to dinner on Wednesday, and we chose the Chifa Restaurant. We ordered 3 dishes 2 proteins and 1 special fried rice. There were six of us, we ate well and we still had left overs??? The bill was $45 to include dessert, drinks, and hot tea. Please do not write off this restaurant, go and experience for yourself. It is one of the best little secrets still left undiscovered in the Kendall area. Many of times, you will find yourself having lunch with some Spanish celebrity that frequent this establishment because the food is so good. Don' t miss out on a great little restaurant and very affordable too. Enjoy a good Chifa - Not many around But this is definately one!

Worst Chinese Food Ever. As a retired international airline pilot, I have learned to appreciate local flavors of restaurants and looked forward to trying Chifa after reading the two prior reviews. It pains me to report that, without a doubt, this is the poorest example of Chinese food I have ever been exposed . Other than the friendly waitress, the owner was surly, complained bitterly about my use of a credit card, and added a dollar to my bill for requesting mixed won ton and egg drop soup. I would not have minded other than there were no egg drops in the soup to begin with. The chicken chow mein was utterly disgusting! All miniscule pieces of dark meat. Appeared to be scraps that some helper scraped from the bones. Most neighborhood Chinese restaurants use white meat as their shining example of quality. Not this place. Very difficult to mess up chicken chow mein, they did! No hot tea, I had to ask the waitress for water, and the decor was slightly stronger than tourist traps along Grant Avenue in San Francisco. No wonder I was the only customer. I actually enjoyed removing the place from the address book in my car's navigation system. The rest room was a disaster. And this was after they returned from vacation. All in all, an extremely poor experience. No wonder that I was the only customer during lunch time in a bustling shopping center. BEWARE!

A definite stop in Miami. Peru has a different flavor of Chinese food than the States and I can only find it at the Chifa in Miami. Now that I live in Texas, whenever I travel to Miami the Chifa is one of the places I make sure to stop by-there is no other place where you can find original Peruvian Chinese food in Miami-great flavor!

Excellent!. Chinese-Peruvian....one of the BEST food combi-

nations imaginable! The food here is terrific (Who would guess, in that wasteland called Kendall!) The service is slow, but the food is outrageous! You can try typical "chifa" or various styles of Peruvian Cuisine. Everything is Super-Bueno!
