Never again – I visited recently for an early dinner with my family. With the exception of 2 other tables, the place was empty. We ordered a Wet Burrito, Chimichangas and what was expected to be Tacos. The waitress provided service that was poor. We had to ask her for water several times, as she not attentive to this. Also, when we ordered the "Tacos", we asked her to explain the difference between Tacos & Tostadas. We ordered Tacos, the waitress of course ordered Tostadas.
The orders were taken verbally by Maria, the waitress,--without writing down. But she then had to return several times to ask what we had ordered again; to repeat to Jose, the cook.
The Wet Burrito and Chimichanga were tasty, but we were disappointed with the presentation and order error on the Tostadas; which we didn't order in the first place. When questioned about the mistake, at the end of our meal, the waitress simply said, "oh I must've messed up your order --no apology or effort to correct was offered to us. I agree this should have been told earlier in the meal, but most likely, Maria would have been upset at doing extra work to make a customer happy.
Did I mention she never asked if our order was OK?
The Fried Ice Cream was not hot on the outside; we had some because of the desire to have something sweet. We couldn't order coffee (Espresso) because the machine was "off" -again, no apology or effort to correct was offered to us.
This is Customer Service 101 people; you make a mistake, you fix it, and say "I'm Sorry" as part of the process; to ensure that the customer returns another day. Let's not forget how many friends will hear about this event this weekend alone
So, Maria the waitress, I hope your next 3 tables get better treatment. And Jose, if you're the owner--fix this.
Worst Experience Ever! – Absolutely awful experience! Go to Guadalajara instead! Service (from the moment we walked in) was absolutely deplorable. "Hostess" (and I use the term loosely) could barely be bothered to wave us to a table and didn't even look at us while she told us to have a seat. The food was slow coming out, and we had to ask for the check after sitting with our plates piled up in the middle of the table for 10 minutes. The food was OK. The chips for the chips and salsa were stale and greasy, the nachos were decent, and the fajitas were way too salty. The worst part about this experience was the bill. They charged us for one too many sodas, our gratuity (18%) was added to our check (we were a party of 4 plus a baby) without us being told, and then they taxed us 8% (sales tax in Florida should be 7%, I believe) on the check PLUS the gratuity. Gratuity should never be taxed, and I believe this whole thing is a scam and illegal. There was also a small dog in the restaurant, which I know is illegal. STAY AWAY IF YOU WANT A GOOD EXPERIENCE.
bad mexican food – I was expected very good mexican cafe food...wasnt good- the service what service? is not service bad bad bad!!!The service was uncaring, and worthless. No greeting, people yellin from the kitchen people at the door and the hosted taking with the watreass time to order was taken like am not want to be here.and then the food was brought. The food was tasteless... they use imitation chesse at the quesadilla and the refried bean look like if you open a can. The server never inquired as to how the meal was...even if you need more soda or a beer!! I can not recommend this place at all. Save your money... and if you want to treaded like that go to you sisterlaw hause if she hate you!
New Ownership – This restaurant is under new ownership and let me say that for the value the food is great!!! I used to hate the old owners and felt that the other reviews did not do the poor service justice, but now that the ownership has changed I highly recomend this restaurant for a casual weekend dinner. Order the Tex Mex grill special it is enough to feed 3. The bread pudding dessert is also great!
Look elsewhere! – Based on the rating I had expected very good food...what I got however was substandard - from the service (what service) to the food (just plain awful)! The service was uncaring, and worthless. No greeting, nothing, the order was taken and then the food was brought. The food was dry and tasteless...I honestly thought it was left over from the previous day. The server never inquired as to how the meal was...I simply asked for the check and he never even seemed interested as to why I had not finished 90% of the meal nor did he offer to wrap it to go. Nothing...
I can not recommend this place at all. Save your money...
nasty place – I have been looking for a Mexican restaurant for a while.. After reading a great review I made the desicion to go to the place and let me tell youIt was an awaful desicion. First the coke I ordered was half full ( odd) and the chips were greassy and sauce not fresh at all...my friend and I ordered and after waiting for almost 20 minutes ( and no refills on drinks) the chicken burritos came out and what a poor presentation they were totally dried and no garnish at all.. the rice was dried and beans looked like mashed beans, we were really upset and could not eat that crap... honestly we left and called to request a manager they did not have a manager on duty and they waiter that answer the phone hung on me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dont recomend this place at all...
