I made an appointment with Dr. Paul Fisher for lower back pain. I was told that I would be paying for the initial exam and any x-rays. The initial exam and 4 x-rays cost $255.00 out of pocket, part of which was for the exam and part of which was for the x-rays. After the initial exam and two adjustments, I suffered excruciating lower back pain and numbness in my left leg. My general practitioner put me on cortisone tablets and told me to have x-rays taken of my back. I then returned for an adjustment by Dr. Craig Fisher. On this initial visit with Dr. Craig Fisher and after not having visited the Fisher's office in 5 days, there was no inquiry as to my condition, just "hop" on the table and do an adjustment. I initiated an explanation to Dr. Craig Fisher of the pain I had been in and that I would like my x-rays to take to my GP. I was told to return the next day for another adjustment and I could have the x-rays then. When I returned the next day, I was seen by Dr. Paul Fisher. During the adjustment, Dr. Fisher informed me that I had not paid for my x-rays, that I had paid for him to read them and that the x-rays were his property and he would not release them to me, but I would be allowed to take pictures of them for my GP. I feel there was no concern as to my condition, only getting me in for more adjustments. Why would a doctor if they were concerned about a patient's well being want to subject someone to additional radiation. A doctor that is interested in a patient's health would ask how they were responding to the treatment they were receiving. If, as Dr. Paul Fisher indicated, I was paying for him to read the x-rays and not the x-rays themselves, why not offer to make more x-rays since according to Dr. Fisher my fees were for him to read x-ray's, not for the x-rays themselves? I have never had a doctor to refuse to give me my medical records or x-rays. I will leave it to the individual to determine why Dr. Fisher refused to give me x-rays I had paid for.
We love both Dr Paul Fisher and Dr Craig Fisher! Professional and friendly staff too. My mom has been going to Dr Paul Fisher since their office first opened and I have been going there since I was a kid (now 25). Their adjustments always help with chronic headaches, body pain, etc., and they are also extremely kind and caring. The best chiropractors in Miami!
