This place is HORRIBLE!!!! The only nice and good professional person is the lady that washes hair, I don't know her name but she is Colombian. I bought a groupon here and it was the worst experience EVER... I guess I should have asked for Carlos according to the reviews but I got Beth- she is RUDE and completely unprofessional... I would NEVER go back even if it was FREE!

This place is amazing! I came here for the first time to get a Morrocan oil treatment and a haircut. Carlos did my hair exactly how I wanted it and it looked beautiful. My hair is so soft and healthy after I left this place. I've been to many hair salons and this one has done the best job. Beth is the owner and she's really passionate about hair and knows so much about it. Definitely ask her questions when you come in- she will definitely make it worth your money! I have brought some of my friends to this salon and they really love it! One got the Keratin and her hair looks so much healthier than before :) Universal is the best salon in South Florida!

My hair looks great! I got a trim and the keratin treatment and I love it. Not only is it supr straight but easy to blow dry! The service is nice and friendly and they make sure you are happy before you leave.

I been coming to Universal for almost 2 years and i absolutely love it!. The staff is very accommodating and make you feel special, the prices are reasonable and the service is phenomenal. I come get my keratin more or less every 4 to 5 months, I use to go to different salons to get it done but this one was definitely the best one. I will definitely recommend this salon.

DO NOT GO HERE! This place is horrendous!!! The people are rude, well the owner's sister, Elizabeth aka "Beth". First you can barely understand her and when you start to make out her words she is RUDE. I bought a Groupon and made an appointment. upon my arrival they were very nice but when they realized I had a groupon they were not as nice left me waiting for an hour to then wash my hair. Once my hair was washed Beth says to be "what is this" as she touches my hair. (my hair tends to get very tangled) the "what is this" started getting louder and louder as she would pull my hair. She then said she would work on my hair if I agreed to cut most of it??? I was in shock for various reasons. In the midst of my shock I didn't even say a word, the last straw was when she pulled out a waiver and said "sign this now or I do not work on your hair" I snapped out of it and told her she was unprofessional and quite rude for treating her customers this way. My hair does get tangled but nonetheless I have always received compliments on how nice my hair is. Regardless, even if I had nappy hair this was no way to treat customers, she started yelling at me and throwing things like scissors in front of customers. I was again appalled... walked away with wet hair and my Sat. ruined... Needless to say I was refunded by Groupon.

The coppola treatment they do is a smoothing treatment is not keratin. Keratin leaves your hair straight and smooth. I would kill myself if I had paid $300 for that crap.

I have been a regular customer since 1994. I will not go anywhere else. It has always been a pleasure to do my hair and I love those body massages and facials. Everyone is attentive and accommodating. The best blow dry ever!!

I am indeed a satisfied customer.

Went for a Karenteen and highlight touch . They suggested I cut the tips. Next thing I know I was charged over $100.00 dollars for a haircut and blow dry also my highlights were horrendous and they burnt my hair.

I bought a groupon for the keratin straightening. I love the way my hair come out but they were not very nice. Plus, the groupon did not cover them blow drying my hair!! I wouldn't have had them blow dry it if I knew it wasn't included and cost $20! You have to come back in a couple days so they can "check" it and wash out the keratin. I asked several times was that appt included in the groupon. They said yes. When I went to leave they said I owed them $20 for them blow drying my hair. I was so angry- and they seemed confused that I didn't know I would have to pay for it. I completely got played and spent $40 on them blow drying my hair! That is ridiculous! Luckily my hair turned out good. But I will never go back to them.
