best gym in town specially for the price!. I love this gym because people/staff are really friendly and helpful!! no sales people! very cheap compared to other gyms, no show-offs. everyone comes here to stay healthy. oh and the part that is open 24 hours! is the best for me with my crazy schedule! love it! they take care of it, its clean and not over populated.

you have to try the classes: i got hooked on body forging after the first class :D

Convenient. Great spot if you work the second shift. I like to go around midnight,sp it's really convenient. The parking lot is very well-lit so I always feel safe.Sometimes I go earlier for the classes. Kevin's spinning class is the best. The price is lower than mopst gyms. It's good enough for your basic workout and some great classes

Love it!. I love this gym. Kevin who teaches spin and bodyforging is worth membership cost alone. They have made some updates and the gym looks great. It is very affordable, at that cost you can't expect luxury. There is a boot camp class on Wednesday nights that is like no other. one of the best gyms i've belongged to :)

Cheap Gym with the bare essentials. They always have techno music playing. Decent selection of machines and lots of dumbells and free weights. The rates are very affordable. I paid $400 for a 1 year membership last year and then renewed for $300 to extend 1 more year. A few months ago they offered me the $300 extension and 4 free months but I did not accept (at that time) so I ended up not getting the free months.

You got to be a good negotiator to get the best rates. The rates are negotiable. Just do your best job at acting like you "are not sure..." and "I want to go take a look at mPowerProject which is actually closer to my house before I decide..." and then pretend like you are walking out the door. Yes, then you get the best rate. Dont come dressed up in your gym attire like you want to work out that day or else they will know you are desperate to sign up and will not give u the lowest rate.

Now yes its true that LA Fitness is opening up any day now (3 blocks away) so maybe use this as leverage when you negotiate with them. LA Fitness will be like $49 per month unless you put like $400 down though so its really no comparison. LA Fitness is a high end gym with Olympic pool, hot tub and Sauna. In sharp contrast, US1 Fitness appeals to the lower class... who just want to lift weights or to fatsos who want to do cardio and a handful of classes. See schedule of classes here:

us1fitnesscenter dot com

The problem is if you go during prime time such as 8AM or 5PM then you will see it packed to the rafters. So better go in the middle of the day. Dont go on Saturday or Sunday either or its too crowded. This is cheapest gym in the area so it has alot of members. And alot of "the kind of people who enjoy rap music" also (maybe 40%) so if you dont like that then go sign up at mPower Project gym (which is more expensive but it is not so crowded)

Also there is always way more men then women at this gym. Maybe 80% men. I am happy here because I wanted to save money and have access to many free weights and some machines and they have all that I am looking for at a low price. The amount of classes are limited. For example Yoga only 3 days per week.

You can also join a new TKD / Muay Thai class for an extra $49 per month which is a great price and they meet 3 times per week.

Us it now - move to LA Fitness as soon as they have their Grand Opening down the street. I went to this gym for the first time last night, as my gym in Miami Shores (M Power Project) is closed for a month as they move locations.

As far was the facility: It is an interesting trip back to the 80's when you enter, with all the neon lights on the walls! It is one room for the most part for working out, and a separate back room for the classes.

The equipment all worked OK, but not the newest or latest in any way. Definitely a few miles on them! It was also somewhat cramped - you have to step and wind around over both the equipment and the people during your workout.

I went at 6:30pm on a Monday - somewhat busy, but not too long of a wait for anything.

And, I did take a spinning class. The room for classes was big enough and the bikes worked but, like the main gym - lots of neon on the walls and lots of sweaty miles on the somewhat rusted bikes. The teacher (Raul) was very good and played good music on the stereo system them had.

The positives -

Lots of ample and well lighted parking,

the location (if you are close), and

the cost.

They quoted me a $99.00 for three month, no contract membership, with about $29.00 per month after that. They also said that the $99.00 included the first and last months fee, so for about $30.00 a month you can belong to this gym until LA Fitness opens, then get out to move over there when it does.

NOT THAT AWESOME!. I'm a student at Johnson & Wales University and this gym happens to be on our campus. Initially, i joined the gym out of PURE CONVENIENCE because it happened to be on campus, and had better hours than our University facilities.

Now they have been advertising that they were moving to the building next door from when I first moved to Miami... that was 3 years ago! They keep giving this excuse that building codes & permits still have to be procured.

Additionally, like a lot of the previous posts mentioned, this US 1 Facility is POORLY MAINTAINED. The equipment is antiquated and overcrowded, forcing you to literally work out on top of each other. The juice bar is poorly maintained and disheveled, and the overall feeling while inside is not that uplifting.

They are currently building a brand new LA Fitness 2 blocks away on the corner of 123rd & Biscayne Blvd. This will no doubt cause them to loose a LARGE CUSTOMER BASE and force them to update their facility and customer service if they intend on keeping their current customers.

Also don't believe the hype of these over positive posts... it's clearly paid employees trying to vouch for their disappointing facility.

My genius suggestions to management, REVITALIZE your facility and hire a professional cleaning staff. Also get rid of excess gym equipment that clutters the space, and lease an outside health/food vendor to handle your F&B (Food & Beverage). Renovate the bathroom and don't store old mops and equipment in there... that's not appealing to anyone!
