In Short – A flock of flamingos greet visitors, their pink plumage providing a perfect photo-op. Other wild birds like Egyptian geese, saddle-billed storks and water fowl can be viewed in the Australian section of the zoo. In the African section, giraffes, zebras, gazelles and ostrich roam, while in the Asian section, Bengal tigers lie in the shade of Tiger Temple (inspired by Cambodia's Angkor Wat).

This is a great zoo. The animals get to roam without cages. Buy the annual pass. It is worth it. They have events there for Easter. It is good for the kids.
- Pros: No cages
Family Fun!
by IWONTEL
For a family outing or a fun date place the Miami Metro Zoo is great. They have done a really good job setting up the habitats for the animals to make it look like their natural setting. The kids will have a blast! It's not only fun but educational as well. I would like to see a little more work on the reptile section though.

Don't arrive too late. Ticket booths close at 4pm and some of the exhibits shut down at 5pm.

See the animal exhibits in style. Rent a family-sized safari cycle and pedal your way around. A two-hour rental for a large cycle (that holds as many as six adults and two small childrens) will run you $32. A smaller family bicycle is available for $22.
Know Before You Go:
Bring a swimsuit for the kids during the summer, as misting stations and interactive water play areas are flowing during the summer.
