After many years of little or no exercise I was finally committed to getting back into shape. Unfortunately my feet were not as committed as I was. I thought I had a simple sprain ankle and after a few unsuccessful home remedies I, like most other people went to my primary care physician who right away referred me to a specialist. This is where the fun began. In a four month period, I had a dozen office visits, dozens of x-rays, an MRI, a cane, a soft cast boot, crutches, pain killers, anti-inflammatory pills, foot wraps, shoe inserts, and too many ice packs to count. After all these treatments, I still had the same pain I began with. After my first visit with Bruce Wilk, I finally began to feel relief. Turns out my pain was a result from an improperly fitted biking shoe which he helped me correct. Seems like a simple enough diagnosis, but one that can only come from someone who has ran and biked as much as he as. No one else had ever asked me anything about how I was training. I’ve been going back for more treatments and have started biking once again. His treatments are simple yet highly effective. I leave there feeling great!

I just finished my last session of therapy with Bruce Wilke at the Orthopedic Rehabilition Specialists center on Kendall drive, near Baptist Hospital and I must give a mightly thank you to the man who got me back on my feet 5 times in as many years. Two back surgeries, one knee surgery and a torn rotater cuff surgery. Even a little complication from some nerve damage due to my first spinal fusion that left me with a condition called Neuropathy in my legs. Bruce helped me after each episode with hands on therapy where he teaches the correct way to stretch and walk while he works on those sore muscles in an aggressive way to help them heal faster and get stronger. In the well-equiped gym there is every kind of torture equipment :)...I always feel like I had a great workout when I leave there even if I am a bit achy. Ultimately feeling stronger with flexibililty and movement...it was a miracle how he helped me get use of my arm back after my shoulder surgery which left my arm with a Big Zero mobility. best of all is that he really knows what he is doing so I have confidence in Bruce....By the way, his associates are all very professional and excellent therapists in their own right with their own style so any problem you might have can and will be treated with their expertise. Everyone else who works there goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome...Should you need any kind of Therapy, physical or rehabilitation this is the place for you . .

Pros: Helped get me back on my feet and use of my arm...everyone is friendly and efficent in the office

Cons: Well, therapy is hard work
