Since 1990, South Miami's Thai Orchid has been serving regional classics like spicy cashew chicken, chunky fried rice, and the spiced-to-order Earth, Wind, & Fire in a romantic setting with candlelit tabletops and pink orchids. Hoping to expand its offerings in 2008, the restaurant changed its name, updated the earthy décor and added a fresh sushi bar. It's a combination that has worked just fine for Moon Thai in Coral Gables, and is actually helping to transform a proven Eastern eatery into a globetrotting culinary winner.
