Tips for Original Pancake House

ZUMEX Bait and Switch. I just visited the newly opened Pancake House on Glades and Lyons in Boca Raton 01/22/2011. The food was good as usual, but I was alarmed to see a bus boy filling the Zumex Orange juice Reservoir with OJ concentrate?!?. There were no oranges in the machine at all. The waitresses were seen filling glasses with OJ right out of the reservoir. I'm sure the patrons were never told they were purchasing concentrate instead of fresh squeezed. I think this practice is shameful and should be stopped. I never write reviews but this is over the top. I dont know if they just ran out of Oranges and this was a one time stop gap measure until the oranges arrived, but to go to the trouble of pouring the concentrate into the machine is poor judgment and reeks of bad intentions .

Made-to-order breakfasts---including over a dozen unique flapjacks---stack the odds in this restaurant's favor.. In Short
Founded in Oregon circa 1953, this simply-furnished spot owes its success to its creative menu and fresh ingredients. Batters are made on the premises; a special "sourdough starter" keeps treats from tasting overly sweet. Patrons choose from eggs, waffles, crepes and oven-baked omelets, as well as signature plates like blueberry pancakes (served with or without compote), giant cinnamon-glazed apple pancakes, thin and chewy "49-ers" and the air-filled, lemon-and-sugar-topped "Dutch Baby."

DELICIOUS AND NUTRICIOUS. MY FAMILY HAS BEEN IN THE RESTAURANT BUSINESS FOR OVER 60 YEARS. MY DAD WAS WITH THE AUNT JEMIMA PANCAKE HOUSES WHEN THEY WERE IN BUSINESS. THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS AND IS PLENTIFUL. NO OTHER PANCAKE RESTAURANT CAN MATCH THE ORIGINAL PANCAKE HOUSE. ALL THE REST ARE JUST WANNA BE'S

Yummy, but overpriced. Just that.... yummy but overpriced. When you're in the mood for a place with lots of selection, including classics and otherwise, this is it. The crepes are fabulous and hte pancakes are my favorite anywhere.

Nothing special except the noise. I have been there twice on weekend mornings. My take is that the food is tasty although a little overpriced for what you get. I have never had good service there and have always been around families with loud uncontrolled kids that drive me nuts. I will go back when I lose my hearing.

busy, busy, busy. Great food, but be prepared to wait for a table. This becomes almost un-bearable on weekend mornings. Try the HUGE apple pancake and dare yourself to finish it! Delish! And almost forgot, there

are only 4 inches between you and the table next

to you....Hey! make new friends!
