Great Value. What else can I say but the food is c'est magnifique! We were so impressed with everything. From the moment we called (Elena was sooooo helpful), then the valet was extremely polite. Then we entered the best steakhouse ever. We were treated like VIP's. The waiter explained everything so clearly. The service was like something out of NYC,not Miami. Even more important was the food. Great crab cakes,a salad full of everything. Super tasty. And on to the steak: so delicious, cooked to perfection. Medium-Rare,exactly as I ordered. We had to skip dessert since the portions were so generous. Ans the cocktails were also really tasty. The special drinks were listed on a little card on the table. A big help. What we couldn't finish was packed up to take home for tomorrow's lunch. An all star winner.
USDA prime beef, elegant tableside service and mammoth martinis..
In Short
With its dark wood details, celebrity photos and tuxedo-clad waiters, this upscale steakhouse chain has the air of a posh men's club. Service is professional and discreet, with bartenders making a mean martini. Dinners begin with a waiter-driven cart laden with fresh vegetables, live lobster and cuts of steak; customers choose from porterhouse, rib-eye, bone-in prime rib and more. Side dishes are traditional and enormous, from baked potatoes and creamed spinach to steamed broccoli with hollandaise.
Seamless Hospitality. I wanted to take my husband out for a nice romantic dinner for his birthday, and since he loves steak, I decided to take him to Morton's, The Steakhouse. We had a great time! The valet guy greeted us with a warm and friendly smile. As soon as we walked in, the hostess greeted us, then shortly after the Maitre 'd Rosa Reyes escorted us to a lovely booth in the corner of the dining room. Now, we have been to many steakhouses, Capital Grille, Ruth Chris, and Flemings.. Just to name a few, but we have never had such a delicious, juicy, more flavorful cut of beef than the one at Morton's. I ordered the Cajun Ribeye, and my husband ordered the NY Strip. The steaks were seasoned to perfection! The Creamed Spinach and Lyonnaise Potatoes accompanied the meal flawlessly. For dessert, we shared the Morton?s Legendary Hot Chocolate Cake that has this sinful center of hot chocolate that oozes out when you cut into it. Because it was my husband?s birthday, our server Dexter put a candle in it, and it seemed like the whole restaurant wait staff, including Executive Chef Julio Guevara came out to sing for him. Needless to say he was embarrassed beyond words, but he felt extremely especial. Morton?s hospitality is seamless. Kudos to the team at North Miami Beach for making this special night an unforgettable experience.
A real disappointment.
We had eaten at Morton's before, and had a really good experience. When I received a gift certificate for the restaurant, I thought it would be a good idea to go the weekend after Valentines Day.
I have to say kudos to two employees -- Rosa, the manager/hostess, who was really friendly and apologetic, and our bartender, whose name I didn't get (what a great guy, and really took care of us while we were waiting to be seated).
Our waiter was horrible. He started out great, telling us about the cuts of meat, etc., but a second round of drinks took fifteen minutes, and he forgot my appetizer course. When I asked for the course (everyone had their salads at this point), it was another ten minutes. Two minutes after getting the lobster bisque, my meal was served. The food runner saw that I was still working on it, so he took the dinner away, but he didn't put it under a heat lamp ... it was returned cold.
The waiter never asked us once if everything was ok, and took forever with our coffee. When our coffee came, he forgot my desert that I ordered with my dinner (our waiter told me that I had to pre-order it). When we told the manager that we were upset, they offered us free apertifs -- sorry, but a shot of booze isn't going to do it. Anna finally comped all of our drinks. Oh, and that dessert was on our bill.
Best Steak in the area!. NY style steak. Consistantly great food. The is a real steak house.
