Be forewarned. The dealership shut down its Facebook functionality disabling customers' abilities to leave comments. The dealership has deleted all negative comments placed by customers such as myself.
Rather than using social media to make good on customer complaints -- thus demonstrating a commitment to service and customer satisfaction -- the dealership prefers to turn its back on wronged customers.
An appeal to BMW Corporate Headquarters in Woodbridge NJ results only in a friendly woman willing to "listen to your story" but is not empowered to make good on the corporation's poor judgement in vetting dealers.
DON'T BUY AUTOMOBILES OR SERVICES FROM SOUTH MOTORS BMW!
DON'T BUY A BMW. The manufacturer wants your money. It doesn't care about your satisfaction.
friendly service. Wow, what a surprise. you wouldn't htink that going to a car dealership for service outside of your warantee would be any good... but these peoplea re pros. I just needed some simepl work done and they were very good and explained everything. i had a hose changed, brakes done, and all my oil and belt work came out cheap4er than the place i noramlly go. Great guys, good service, would recommend them to my friends.
Worst Service Department in the city!.
Quite possibly the worst service department I have ever visited. Here's my story: I recently bought a new 2011 Mini Copper for my daughter. After a month, the plastic cover on the sun visor broke off. I setup appt at South Motors to replace, and after dropping off car, waited 2 hours to be told the part needed to be ordered. OK, so weeks go by, and no response to the part, until I get a survey a month later and I kill them on it. Within an hour someone calls me apologizing, to let me know the person that was supposed to order the part quit, and didn't place my order (??!!). By now I'm thinking this place is a little disorganized, but no worries. I make a follow-up appt and arrive to get the new visor installed. Now a new service advisor comes to me to tell me the cost is $130 for the part and installation. When I ask why I would need to pay anything, hios response is "broken parts are covered under warranty". Now I'm really pissed, and I tell him to just give me my car back. I figure I'll write a letter to them and complain later. By now I've wasted 2 mornings, and nothing's been done. Finally when I go get the car, I'm told the key's been "misplaced". After another hour, I'm told it was put in another customer's car, so they need to go pick it up. Long story short - it took me 3 hours to get my car, and no visor replaced.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!
Best Experience.
I'm always a little hesitant when it comes to buying a new car. You hear all the horror stories, and it just makes me dread everytime I have to do it. I decided to check out South BMW because some friends of mine had good experiences with them. I can't emphasize how great my experience was. At no point did I feel uncomfortable, they even went so far as letting me keep a car as a loaner overnight so I could make up my mind.
I love my car, and I look forward to whenever I can go back for service. Thank you again South Motors.
Great service. Thank you..
Excellent service for my 2004 BMW. Very knowledgeable staff and gave me a discount on the work (electrical engine throttle problem). I had already agreed to the initial price, then discounted the service after adjusting the hours and thanked me for bringing my vintage bimmer (2004 3 Coupe).
They even offered to buy my car after the work was done - without having to buy one of theirs. Engine now revs and idles like new. I will keep my BMW for a bit longer. Thanks Dan Warren and South team.
BMW South - UNETHICAL & FRAUDELENT.
I test drove and was negotiating a car at BMW South. After letting the sales representative know I was not sure I wanted to take the care, he then suggested I take the car for the day as a loaner. There would be no cost and I can return the next day without any obligation. I agreed to take the car and signed a Borrowed Vehicle agreement and provided them with my credit card and insurance, in case of any damages.
The next day I decided to visit Braman BMW who gave me a better deal on the car so I decided to make the purchase through them. They also offered to have the loaner returned to South BMW on their flatbed tow truck. . I later spoke the Sales Rep at South and advised them I decided to purchase the vehicle through Braman and the car was enroute to their dealership. While, understandably he was not happy I did not close the deal with him he was not rude or out of line. He was concerned because the car had his dealer tag on it and he said he could get in trouble. I told him I would be happy to contact Braman so they can provide him with an exact time the car will arrive and proceeded to call Braman. While I was on the phone with Braman, I received a call from a gentleman that identified himself as Marco Ruiz, “Directory of Security” for BMW South (I later came to find out no such position exists and in fact this was the Sales Manager), advising (or better said screaming) at me that “if the car was not there in 1 hour he would report the call stolen and charge $3000 to my credit card.” Literally this man was talking to me like a common day thief at which point I told him he can speak with Braman directly because I would not allow for him to speak to me that way.
The car was delivered as promised but two days later I was charged $500 on my credit card by BMW South. American Express has been investigating the incident and BMW South is now stating the charge is because the car was returned without floor mats. #1) The car NEVER had floor mats---it had paper mats like the ones used after your car has been washed—Interesting note that they did not state the car was damaged because obviously they would need to show photos and actually proof, instead they opt to state things are missing that were never there. #2) There are NO floormats on the bmw website for $500!! The most expensive on the whole site are $245. #3) They are accusing me of STEALING and basically committing FRAUD to try and get whatever money they can. This is the most blatant non-ethical and unprofessional behavior I have ever been involved in a sales transaction. I work in sales so I COMPLETELY understand how it feels to lose a deal but NEVER would I resort to such disgusting and ludicrous behavior.
South Motors BMW's Service is Lacking and Unprofessional.. I had been a long time customer of South BMW motors, at least a decade. I will never go back to them again after my last experience. I got a flat, they sent their tow company to come pick up my car. The man hopped in my car and drove it up the flat bed and damaged my rear bumper as well as leaving my car leaking fluids. I reported the issue right away. That was the beginning. I asked them to check everything out to make sure my car was ok. It took them 2 weeks to replace my tire. When I got my car back I noticed it was driving funny. I brought it back 2 times and was told everything was just fine. About 3 weeks later I had another tire blowout... Turned out the rear suspension was all messed up. So I decided to also have the rear bumper repaired at the time as well. They kept my car for 2 months, fixed my suspension, gave my car an oil change, replaced the tire... but they did not repair the rear bumper, instead they replace the front bumper. I still have a cracked rear bumper. Their associates were terribly rude when I came to pick up my car. They could not find my keys, then they could not find my car. Sadly I will never return to them. From now on when I need any work done on my car I will gladly drive out to Biscayne Blvd and not have to deal with the poor service that South Motor BMW provides.
avoid!!! worst customer ever.
This is the worst BMW experience I have ever had. You pay more for a BMW, you expect better than average service. I had better service from Honda and Saturn, my previous cars!
I arranged to drop off my car, as well as my mom's car after mine was completed. I was told by customer service rep K, that she would call me as soon as it was done. I should expect to hear from her by the afternoon. I received no calls. I called in the afternoon several times to follow up, and was told that K was busy with other customers. Finally the next morning I called, got the same line, and said "hey, aren't I a customer too? This is not acceptable". Finally K called me back to inform me that I would need a new oxygen sensor at $500, and it would not be ready for another week.
A week later, I went to pick up my car and drop off mom's X3. I told the same customer rep that I had serious concerns about mom's car, as it felt like something was seriously wrong. I also requested detailing. She didn't seem to take me seriously, and again told me she would call in a few hours. No calls were received. My mom called back several times and no one responded. Finally late in the day, K called back to say mom's car would be ready in the morning. We dropped my mom off around noon so she could pick up her car. The attendant brought out a car and handed my keys, and my mom refused, saying "this is not my car". The attendant argued with her, telling her that yes it was your car. She said, first of all, my car is BLACK and this car is BLUE. Where is my car? She finally had to get the manager, and after 30 mins they located her car, and not a thing had been done to it. She was so upset, that she said please just put the coolant in and let me get out of here. They didnt' even bother vacuuming inside, and didn't recall what the original instructions were.
My advice - go to BRAMAN BMW in downtown miami and avoid South Motors.
