Miami Acura Service Department - Rip off artists! – Buyer beware! The Miami Acura service department will WAY WAY overcharge you and upsell you products and services that you don't need at all!
I have been going to Miami Acura since 1989 and until recently I've been happy with them. I believe that the economic situation in the United States has made their service department resort to horrible business tactics which include: upselling products and services that you don't need and WAY overcharging.
I brought my car in for a regular service and when I was at home the service department called me to upsell 15 different products and services to the tune of around $1999. I kindly responded "I am only interested in the tune up and please print out all the things that I would need along with the prices to fix them".
A few days later my air conditioner stopped working so I brought it in to the Miami Acura Service department. It took them around 3 days to call me back to tell me that it was a broken hose causing my AC to stop working and they were going to have to replace it. I said "go ahead and fix it". How much could it cost to change a hose, right?
When my car was ready to be picked up, I went to pay the bill and it was $650! I was like "$650 to change a hose!?"
When I asked the service manager to go over the bill with me, which wasn't itemized he talked in circles and used very technical jargon, I left thinking WHAT JUST HAPPENED? When I got back to my house I found the list of items and prices that needed to be fixed on my car and what do you know??...the same hose on my air conditioning with a cost of $150. How did the price jump $500 dollars in a couple of weeks. I chalked it up as "I got ripped off"!
Now I get these sales type phone calls from Miami Acura offering $15 oil changes to which I respond that I wouldn't go there if oil changes cost NOTHING. When they ask me why, I tell them the story. That's when they say, "We really want our customers to be happy, and a supervisor will call you immediately to see if we can rectify this problem!" Guess who called me back...NOT ONE PERSON! Do you know why?? Because they DON'T care about their customers and they are just looking to get new people in there to rip off!
I wonder if they will ever read this and try to fix the problem now? Keep calling me Miami Acura, because each time you do, I will blog, write, post, share and tell everybody about your less than stellar business practices! The Miami Acura Service Department ripped me off!
